“St Louis Staycation.”
Reviewed October 18, 2011

This hotel is the best in St. Louis. Super friendly staff, great outdoor pool (summer), excellent food. Got a good deal for weekly rates (buy 2 get 1 free). The spa is also amazing. It is also close to much that the city has to offer. It's St. Louis, Not NYC. Clean and comfy.

Room Tip: Over look the City not the North side.

For our 3rd anniv, we weren't able to leave St Louis, but still wanted to get away (if just for one night). Four Seasons helped us achieve this. We booked the Romace Package and were greeted by a great bottle of wine, choc covered strawberries and truffles. The room was beatiful and very clean. The view was amazing and the staff (from the valets to the room attendants) were very professional and helpful. We had an emergency during our stay, and the staff was really concerned and offered to help if needed.

I hate to mention anything bad, because our stay was really great, however, there are a very important things that should be mentioned.

*We encontered a pretty yucky insect (roach) around the bar in our room..pretty shocked being that our room was $350+/night
*The drain in the bathtub was broken, so after a really nice soak, we couldnt get the water to drain the entire night.
*Our package was to include breakfast, and complimentary valet parking. We were charged for parking at $28/night and received a seperate bill for $98 for breakfast in conjunction to our $350+ bill. The charges are still pending so I'll give it a few days before I start to worry!
*The elevators were ridiculous! Check-in is located on the 8th floor and from 8 on up you have to go to a new set of elevators that went down when they were supposed to go up. Ended up on the elevators far longer than I wanted to be. Each time we had problems.

Room Tip: The hotel and staff were amazing! Hopefully, the few issues we encountered are not common. It is ver...

Off the bat, let me say that being upgraded from an Arch-View Room (9th to 15th floors) to a Premier Room (floors 16-19, we were on the top floor which is 19) is a nice way to start off. Though, I believe the rooms themselves are identical. The decor is very well done, contemporary and a bit modern, especially the bathroom. The view is the highlight of the room with large floor to ceiling windows from wall to wall that give a perfect view of the arch and of surrounding downtown. The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable and clean. There's an iPod speaker dock on one of the nightstands.

The bathroom was the best part of the room itself. In mirror TV, separate tub and rain shower, separate toilet door. The soft water from the rain shower really made a difference, and the L'Occitane products didn't hurt either (no, I had no clue what L'Occitane was until I stayed here, but this is why I have a wife).

The gym downstairs is mostly adequate, though there's no free weight bench. It's very clean, all the machines seem pristine, and there are dumbbells up to about 55lbs.

The restaurant was the only letdown of the entire experience. The outdoor terrace and view are wonderful, but the food is, well, good, not great. The service I'd actually rate as okay to poor. Dinner was fine, though our server was a bit cold. For breakfast, the hostess asked if we would mind being seated at the lounge area since we requested outdoor seating. Fine with us, except that there were many tables outside at the restaurant that remained unoccupied for the duration of our meal. Add that to the fact that we waited 15 minutes to be seated in a rather empty restaurant in general, and, well, breakfast wasn't so wonderful. It's also a bit pricey for just okay food.

The hotel is clean (immaculate), the rooms are beautiful and beds comfortable, the restaurant had reasonable prices and well-prepared food, the spa is perfect (maybe a bit pricey) and the service is what you would expect from a luxury hotel. Cost more, but worth it!!

Room Tip: The Arch view rooms are very nice.

Love this hotel for business. Not sure if I would do a family trip. Rooms to the south view the landing and the Arch. To the north, they overlook an industrial area that is transforming into a trendy spot. It ain't a view of splendor, but is one of history. And if you lime trains, there is good train watching from either side, but they are far enough away that there is no sound annoyance for those who would be bothered by it. And the outdoor cocktail area rocks. Local brews, too.

Only problem with Four Seasons STL is restaurant/bar, as food was not up to standard with the rest of the hotel. Workout facility/spa were A++, and rooms were both roomy and very well appointed. Bathroom was large with lots of marble/granite, and as is standard, staff was readily available as it related to any need(s) that we had. Overall I was VERY satisfied with my stay there, and when in STL again will for sure be back
