“Great Appetizers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

We had a great meal at Mango! We ordered several appetizers and made it our own tapas dinner along with a pitcher or Sangria. Everything we ordered was delicious! The restaurant is well decorated and comfortable. Service was excellent too!

“Worth the trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

We've visited Mango a couple of times now and we're looking forward to our next outing. Located in the beating heart of St. Louis down the alley-like side street that is North 11th Street, it's easy to either miss your turn or feel a bit apprehensive about parking, but fear not. There are several (pay) lots near-by, and though paying the $5 is a bit aggravating, you can take solace in knowing your car is safe. In addition, the neighborhood, though definitely city, is also safe. If your idea of fun is a night-in-the-life of Carrie Bradshaw and her friends, this the place for you. But I digress. Back to Mango's. The chef-owner is actually from Peru and he has brought his homeland to the Midwest. The food is truly unique, there is an excellent wine selection including Peruvian wines and mixed drinks. If the weather permits, have a seat on the front patio, or escape some of the city sounds inside. Enjoy!

“Great lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

My wife and I really enjoyed our lunch, it reminded us so much of our South American dining experiences. The food, service and ambiance were excellent. The empanada and anticucho appetizers were great, and the desserts were the perfect conclusion of a great lunch. I highly recommend the saltado langostino main course, and either the mango sorbet or flan dessert. I rate this 4.5 out of 5 stars, and we plan to return the next time we are in St. Louis. My only recommendation would be to add black beans to the side selections to make the meal more authentic South American.

“Tasty”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

Very friendly and attentive service. The plantain chips and salsa verde is amazing. For my lunch I had aji de gallina, which is chicken and potatoes in a walnut sauce, served with white rice. I loved everything about it. Entrees are in the 12-15 dollar range, but they have smaller plates for under 10 dollars. I will definitely go back and try more of the food here.
