As soon as we drove up, we knew we were in for a treat. What a wonderful way to spend our 38th Anniversary. From the second Jan opened the door and welcomed us as family, until the very warm "see you later," everything was perfect. The Mansion is a peaceful oasis in the middle of a hectic world. We had plans for the day, mostly centered around Christmas shopping, but cut them short so we could share the warm, cozy, quiet parlor fireplace. It was by far the most relaxing time we have ever had together. Next time, and that will be soon, we intend to plan a little better so we can enjoy the hot tub in the solarium. I usually have a hard time the first night in another bed. Not here. The massive bed in the Resevoir Room was so comfortable we both fell to sleep almost immediately. The nights sleep was near as good as the parlor. I really hate making this review in a public forum for fear the place will be full the next time we are in town.

We rented out the entire Mansion for my Mom's 60th Birthday surprise party. It was decorated for Christmas, and everything was beautiful. The classic old feel of the home was complimented by every modern convenience you could hope for to make it a comfortable stay. Jan and her husband were wonderful hosts, along with Vickie the house manager. They were more than just the owners and employees, they were like friends by the end of our weekend. Breakfast was great both days. Gourmet style brunch food hearty enough to let you skip lunch for the day. The rooms were nicely appointed, and the house was well maintained. On Saturday, we stayed at the Mansion and their chef, Dawn, prepared a four course dinner in the main dining room that was very good (sherry coated shrimp, wild mushroom fondue, Caesar salad, apple and white cheddar tarts, chocolate port beef tenderloin, maple sherry pecan encrusted salmon, and homemade birthday cake for dessert). I have been to many B&B on the Select Registry, and this is one of the finest.

Gorgeous stately home located opposite an historic park. Convenient to downtown and everywhere else in St. Louis. Beautiful furniture, outstanding decor, memorable service, and fabulous breakfast. Worth a trip to St. Louis! Has private gated parking on property, and a delightful backyard patio and garden. Excellent activity and dining recommendations from hosts, can't miss Pappy's for BEST St. Louis BBQ, go early, especially in game day, as they do run out and when it's gone, that's it for the day. Claustrophobes warning: ride to top of the arch in a small (4-6 smallish people max)windowless capsule. Not for the nervous!

My wife found this B&B online and really wanted us to stay there. We had never stayed at a B&B before, but I must say I was a bit reluctant at first. That feeling was gone as soon as I walked up to the front door. This place was amazing. It's an historic home that was saved from being demolished. Dave and Jan did an amazing job with it! I've stayed at places that cost twice as much, but this felt like we were home. Furthermore it was all decked out for Christmas. The place is so well appointed and not cookie cutter like a standard hotel. I only wished we'd been able to stay longer and talk with Dave and Jan, but they had a doctors appt. Vickie filled in quite nicely and whipped us up a tasty yet not overfilling breakfast. I can say this place has turned me on to the idea of B&Bs next time the wife and I get away. It was just a more personal and friendly experience. Thanks Jan and Vickie for giving us a wonderful night to relax. I'm sure we will return again!

We needed a get-away and were thinking about Chicago or Mexico, but didn't want to travel that far, so I looked into places in St louis (only two hours from us.) I found this B&B and I'm so glad I did! It's hard to imagine a more relaxing place to just spend a few days together- everything about the Fleur-De-Lys just makes you want to settle in and be comfortable.

You can tell immediately and all through your stay that every detail has been carefully thought out and paid attention to: Vickie the innkeeper and Jan and Dave the owners manage to be simultaneously wonderfully warm and completely professional, the rooms are beautiful without the fussiness that seems to characterize many B&Bs, the breakfasts were consistently amazing (I don't think we ever finished one, but we really wanted to!), we felt welcomed and confortable in every room of the mansion (particularly the lovely front parlor with the fireplace), and slept better than we have in ages. It was so hard to leave, we wished we could just roll the whole thing up and take it with us- especially the bed and the giant hot tub...

Fair warning: you might lose your motivation to go see the sights of St Louis in favor of just strolling around the neighborhood, sitting and staring at the fire, or soaking in the hot tub- we certainly did!

We will definitely plan to come back, and would consider giving a stay at the Fleur-De-Lys as a special gift for family or friends sometime too- to give an experience like this to someone we love will be almost as great as being there ourselves.

We had the pleasure of staying at this terrific B&B in early November. The mansion is absolutely gorgeous and our hosts immediately made us feel at home. We stayed in the Botanical Gardens room and it was spacious and very comfortable. The bath was clean and remodeled to look like it had been there since the mansion was built, only with modern facilities. The breakfasts were excellent and we never went away hungry. There is off-street, gated parking which for us was a plus. The mansion is located west of downtown, not far from The Hill area and all of their fantastic Italian restaurants. It is also near the Missouri Bottanical Gardens and it would be a bit of a hike but you could walk to it from the Fleur-De-Lys. We will most definitely stay here the next time we are in St. Louis! Highly Recommended!!
