“Nice view into Grant's personal life”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2011

White Haven, the Dent home/estate where Grant and family lived is available for viewing. You can walk the well kept grounds of the immediate area of the estate. Unfortunately, the top floor wasn't open to the public as it had not yet been made handicap accessible. There are a few period pieces of furniture as well. Off of the Visitor's Center, in the estate barn, is a great walk through Grant's life exhibit. Don't miss it. Visitor's Center also plays a short video, which is a nice overview of Grant's life. Plenty of parking and just across the street from Pabst property which houses Hard Scrabble(the modest farm home built by Grant himself), but requires a separate entrance fee. By the way, the staff were friendly and welcoming and provided an excellent tour.

“Great stop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2011

The house is very nice. Staff is very informative. Doesn't take long to tour the house but you can spend a while in the museum which has alot of the Grant's personal belongings. Well worth your time.

“Quick stop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2011

We were on our way to Grant's Farm and this is right next door. We stopped by and watched the movie which was very informative. There is a small museum which we quickly browsed through. The tour through the house and property was pretty quick but our guide was informative and I felt like I learned a lot more about President Grant and his family. I'm glad we stopped by. The place is clean and the staff were friendly.

“The National Park Service has done a wonderful job restoring the Ulysses S. Grant National Historical Site”

The National Park Service has done a wonderful job restoring the Ulysses S. Grant National Historical Site. The park rangers are very friendly and seem like the love sharing about the life of the Grant and the Dent family. The barn has been transformed into an air conditioned museum on Grants personal life & family. Another great NPS site.
