While attending meetings in St. Louis, a group of us came across this lovely downtown restaurant. The emphasis is on good wine with lunch and dinner. The wine list is extensive and impressive. And prices are some of the fairest I've seen (the markups are far below normal).

My group opted to sit in the "wine garden" for dinner on a pleasant Sunday evening. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, the service was exceptional, and the food quite good.

There are multiple rooms including space for large groups as well as private dining. Next time I am in St. Louis, I will definitely return.

Went with a large group on a Sunday evening. The restaurant is ENORMOUS with 5 dining rooms. Renovation of interior ceiling support beams resulted in our being seated in the covered courtyard, a very large space that had a more sports bar pub feel than high-end restaurant. When we arrived there were only three other occupied tables. Our server was VERY talkative and we learned more about him than most of us would have preferred (T.M.I.). That being said, service was prompt. We ordered appetizer platters to share and the highlight was the bacon-wrapped shrimp - deliciously smoky (albeit the bacon was chewier than I prefer). I ordered the halibut which was tasty but not spectacular. Others in my group agreed that our dinners were ok but not great. (Please see my review of Lorenzo's for GREAT dining!) Several of our group were hearing impaired and the covered courtyard area was extremely reverberant (echo-y) and it was difficult for those with hearing loss to participate in the conversation. Several of us were getting chilled because the A/C was set pretty cold, and our server then went and had the motorized cover opened. Instantly, the space was more comfortable (despite it being July, the evening was really nice) and the reverberation disappeared; we all enjoyed our experience much more after that. In summary, good but not great, expensive for the experience.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around after a visit to the arch. The service was fabulous. They were tolerant of our kids (3&6) and accommodated us by seating us near the kitchen so the kids could watch the action. We were able to substitute a butter sauce for cream sauce for the kids meals and they allowed us to split an entree for them. The food came promptly, the pulled BBQ pork sandwich was excellent and steak salad was good. The sodas & waters were refilled promptly without asking. The staff started joking around when the 3yr old got hyper off the soda and were not annoyed. That was great. Leave room for their desserts!!! Recommend the cowboy brownie for dessert, plenty to share around. The vintage gowns displayed on the mannequins were awesome and the decor was great. Facilities were clean and well kept.

We went as a fairly large group for a work function on a Sunday night. First they didn't have the wine we wanted (but managed to charge us for it anyway), then they didn't have the liquor for another drink, then they didn't have the side dish for the ribs and were out of one entree. All the time the waiter had a really bad attitude. After the mix-up with the bill someone came out to say they weren't normally open Sundays and were working with limited kitchen staff, limited wait staff an no managers like they were doing us a big favor. Well sorry, but that's not our problem. It would have been much better if they had stayed closed. Then we could have gone somewhere good to eat.

Everyone got something different - duck, veggie pasta, prime rib, sword fish, NY strip, ribs - and had some fantastic wine - Peter Michael Les Pavots 2010 Cabernet Sauvingnon. Everything was fantastic & server the best!
