The Park Avenue Mansion, located in the heart of the historic and beautiful Lafayette Square area, is a gem! innkeepers Kathy and Mike Pettit have meticulously restored this grand Second French Empire mansion and have created an ambience that is warm, gracious, and - thanks to Dausy, the resident labradoodle - fun! Breakfasts are scrumptious and may be served in the dining room or in the garden, which is a delight in itself. And the location is perfect for exploring the area. We were never more than 5 miles from our destinations, and often just a 5 or 10 minute walk. He perfect place for a long weekend in St Louis.

This is a truly great St. Louis experience. The Park Avenue Mansion is in a great location in a great neighborhood. It is across the street from Lafayette Park and has plenty of street parking. We had multiple great breakfasts in the "garden", which is a beautiful second lot attached to the mansion. Our room "the balcony room" overlooked this garden, which has multiple gazebos and a fountain/pond with goldfish. The landlord shared with us interesting stories of St. Louis, the neighborhood, and the house over breakfast. As someone who grow up in St. Louis and now lives on the East coast, I was delighted to come back to my hometown and stay at the Park Avenue Mansion.

This is one of the best B&B experiences we have ever had. The Mansion is beautifully appointed with Victorian period antiques. The breakfasts were outstanding (each of our 4 mornings). Our hosts Michael and Kathy made the visit especially enjoyable. They were helpful with suggestions for restaurants, sites to visit (this was our first trip to St. Louis) and great history of the city and house. The location of the Mansion made it so convenient to get all over the city. The courtyard is beautiful, clean and private. Our room and also the public areas were so comfortable that it is worth a stay just to relax experience the atmosphere. We plan to return to St. Louis soon and will definitely stay at the Mansion. Ruth and Gordon M.

Room Tip: Rooms vary in size but are all beautiful.

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend in St. Louis! From the minute we stepped inside, our innkeepers at the Park Avenue Mansion went out of their way to make us--and all the other guests in the full house--feel welcome and special. The Mansion was lovingly restored, the garden where we had fabulous breakfasts each morning was an oasis, everything was very clean, our room as well as the public areas of the mansion were completely comfortable. The neighborhood with an historic park just across the street was lively and interesting. All the activities we planned were just a short drive. We are looking forward to another trip to St. Louis soon which will, I hope, include another stay at the Park Avenue Mansion.

Room Tip: Our room was on the third floor, but we were rewarded with outstanding views of the neighborhood and...

We LOVE to visit St. Louis and staying at the Park Avenue Mansion B&B is ALWAYS 1st on our to do list! Michael and Kathy are great hosts and go above and beyond for all their guests. The location, comfort, ambience, service, food, EVERYTHING is top notch! You'd be hard pressed to find ANY place (hotel or restaurant) that can beat Kathy's breakfasts! The courtyard, with its beautiful trees, flowers, fountains and arbors is fantastic... and just wait 'til you meet Daisy (you'll want to take her home with you)! The B&B is in walking distance of several great restaurants, shops and right across the street from a beautiful historic park surrounded by architecture that dates back to the 1800's.
If all you're looking for is a cheap pillow to carry you over to the next morning, this place will be wasted on you... BUT... if you're looking for a wonderful EXPERIENCE to enhance your stay while you enjoy an amazing city, you love great food, great people and like to treat yourself to something special, do yourself and those traveling with you a favor and stay at the Park Avenue Mansion B&B! Enjoy!
