overall a good hotel for the business traveler. location between downtown and Clayton makes it convenient. The hotel is clean and has good decor with the Forest Park Amusement theme. The restaurant is good- sports bar menu with some nice entrees.

negative- the parking is out of the way and not covered

On a rainy miserable night, I was greeted by Lisa at the front desk. She was very friendly and quickly got me to my room. It was quite large and very clean. I was impressed by the ammenities in the room, which included 2 beds, a sofa and chair, a large desk and nice kitchen area. The pool was very scenic and the fitness room had everything you could need. Right across from forest park and north of the Hill, you couldn't pick a better location.

Dear jaypowen;

Thank you for mentioning Lisa, our night audit agent. It is nice to hear that you had a smooth, easy check in. We try to accommdate :) You were in our nicest, largest room - studio suite. The TV's are larger in these rooms, too. Glad that you were able to take a dip in our indoor pool and use our 24 hour Fitness Center. We are in a great location and hope that you return to our hotel. our son visits ST Louis Children's Hospital annually and we stay here every time. The location is fantastic. 5 minutes to the hospital and walking distance to science center. Close to zoo and easy to get to restaurants.

Complimentary cookies at night and AWESOME breakfast in the mornings!

Longevity of staff--some are the same since we started coming here in 2007

Room Tip: King suite

We chose this Hampton for its indoor pool and great location in relation to Forest Park, the zoo, and the St. Louis Science Center. Being so close to The Hill, the Italian neighborhood with great restaurants, was a fringe benefit. Friendly, helpful staff.

Room Tip: Ice and vending machines were in an enclosed room near elevators, so no matter what time people used...

Dear Mickey0504;

Thanks for staying with us and we hope to have you back. We are very close to the Delmar Loop (Home of the St. Louis Walk of Fame, Chuck Berry's Blueberry Hill, & Fitz Rootbeer) and The Central West End. Just a couple of suggestions for your return visit. And, yes, we are in a great location where you can actually walk to the St. Louis Zoo and St. Louis Science Center - both offer free admission!

The hotel was sold out, but I kept trying and finally someone cancelled just moments before I was about to reserve another hotel. The Front Desk staff were great -- expedient, congenial, etc. Loved the breakfast -- lots of great items, and happy Breakfast Staff who are quick to refill items and wipe down tables. They also leave the food at until the last person is finished, which I greatly appreciate. Room was clean and well stocked. Internet was fast. Nice big desk and office chair in the room. What more could a business traveller ask for?

Stay here all the time for work, for the last 2 years. Probably 1-2 a month. It is a very nice Hampton Inn, and I'm guessing it's either on the newer side or has been renovated in the last few years.

Location is good for me. About a 20-25 minute drive from the airport, and is right off of 64. For work I go to SLU medical school and it's an easy drive from the hotel. It is also an extremely quick drive to Jewish Barnes Hospital. Hotel is not in "downtown" St Louis. You would have to drive to downtown and it would probably be 10-20 minutes based on traffic. Parking at hotel is free and self park. There is a Target and large mall about a 10 minute drive West on 64. Right next to the hotel is The Highlander bar and grill, which is ok but nothing amazing. Also a Jimmy Johns in the next building over. Not really much else in the immediate area. There is some sort of science museum about a mile down the road.

Rooms are modern, clean, and decent sized. Never have had a room issue. Bathrooms are large and very clean. Staff are always very nice and of all the times I've stayed there I've only encountered one rude person at the front desk, and he may not be there anymore. Breakfast is your standard Hampton Inn free breakfast. Can't complain. There is a small shop with cold beverages, snacks, and ice cream behind the front desk. Exercise room is on the small size. Only 2 treadmills and 1 ellipticle. There is an indoor pool but I've never used it.

I travel a lot for work and have stayed at several Hampton Inns, and can confirm this is one of the best. I will continue to stay here as long as I keep visiting St. louis.

Dear christy423;

Thank you for your comments in Trip Advisor. We tend to get more feedback from leisure stays; it is nice to receive feedback on corporate travel.

We are 7 years old and have made some updates to the property. We do strive to keep it clean and well maintained, though; thank you for noticing! In November, 2013, we are undergoing a major renovation - we are getting a whole new lobby.

Thanks for mentioning some of the area attractions and restaurants. You should take a drive 2 miles south, upon your return. The Historic Italian Distrit, "The Hill", is located there and is home to many authentic restaurants.

The St. Louis Science Center is located withing walking distance of the hotel. It is about 5 blocks down, on the same side of road as hotel, and all sidwalk. You should check it out! They have free admission and there is an overpass that will take you to the St. Louis Planetarium. You can also go through a well lit tunnel that takes you into the running trails of Forest Park, right beyond the overpass.

I don't know if you have been inhouse since we remodeled the Fitness Center. It has all new equipment with personal viewing screens.

We are glad that you have found your "home away from home" when traveling into the area. Please let us know if you ever are in need of anything while in our "house". We rank amongst the top 7% of 1,800 Hamptons, and your feedback is what helps us stay there!

We stayed here for Spring Break. Big reason was for the pool. It was really small and always seemed cloudy and not clean. The kids did not mind, of course, but I thought it was yucky. Overall, the experience was fine for a Hampton Inn. Decent breakfast. Hotel was really busy because of St. Patrick's Day and Spring Breakers like us. Service was friendly, room was clean. Also, the queen bed sagged to the middle terribly. Made sleeping uncomfortable.

Dear AnneLeawood;

Thank you for bringing your pool experience to our attention. We are working on the issue and appreciate your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience during your stay.

We do run a high occupancy at this location; St. Pat's Day & Spring Break, combined, do make it a busy time.

Please come back to experience our clean rooms and interact with our friendly staff. If you have a bed that is not to your liking, please let our Front Desk know - we will do whatever we can to make your stay comfortable.

We Love Having You Here!
