“Only Original Building from the 1904 Worlds Fair”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

The building is as much of a work of art as the exhibits. Expecially enjoyed the Mummy and Armor exhibits. If free parking fills up, the overflow cost $15.

“Terric art museum in wonderful surroundings”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

Excellent museum covering a wide range of art through the ages. Light and airy, plenty of space to walk around and to sit, photography generally possible throughout except visiting exhibitions. Staff friendly and helpful. Entry free. If you are on foot, park trolley drops you at door, running every 20 minutes in each direction. Excellent cafe, delicious food, good washrooms.

“excellent new building (and Boathouse)”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

Artist Andy Goldsworthy created an extraordinary piece, titled Stone Sea, that sits at the confluence of the old Palace of Art (from World's Fair 1904) and the new building (opened June, 2013) which holds contemporary art. This roomy new East Building offers great spaces to present many large works. Both old and new collections are exciting! Best to go on a weekday after school is back in session, but whenever you go, have a leisurely lunch at the Boathouse (in-door, outdoor seating, open year-round) also there in Forest Park. Fresh salads, pizzas, yummy desserts, and a wild lake with paddle boats and ducks. $$

“Free and fun”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Entry to art museum is free but there's a $15 parking if you decide to park right outside the building. On the other hand there are tons of street parking in forest park area if you don't mind a 10-15 minute walk from your car to the museum. The museum was really interesting and informative. There is also a cafe in the museum. You could spend anywhere between 3 hours to a whole day here, all free of charge.
