“Nice Friday Evening”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

The Art Museum is great and has a variety of art to view. They have real Egytian mummies which is very cool.

If you go on a Friday, not only is the museum open later than normal but you may be able to get into the current special exhibit for free that night.

“Great Variety. Wonderful Art. Unbeatable Price.”
Reviewed May 30, 2012

This museum has an unbelievably interesting and diverse art collection from many different periods, genres, and mediums. I was extremely impressed and could probably spend hours here on a regular basis. . . and I'm not an art connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination.

As with most of the great attractions in St. Louis it was free. Can't beat that.

“Monet with Friends”
Reviewed May 25, 2012

We took out of town friends to the Monet exhibit. While the exhibit was small, Monet was huge. We loved his work and learned so much while there. Cannot wait until they are finsihed with construction.

“Nice Variety of Different Periods of Art in Free Museum”
Reviewed May 18, 2012 via mobile

We really enjoyed the special photography exhibit. There was a nice accompanying brochure and well done descriptions for each piece. This was necessary since there was some unusual.contemporary photography. We liked that there was a variety of art represented even if collections not extensive. The new addition will increase the size significantly and will open in about a year. Located in beautiful Forest Park, the water feature in front is great for picnicking. Nice way to spend a few hours especially since free.

“Liked it a lot.”
Reviewed May 10, 2012

This is one of the only buildings left standing from the 1904
"World's Fair" Exposition. St. Louis residents pay a special dedicated tax that supports the Art Museum to ensure that it will always be free of charge to visitors. which I find impressive. We viewed the American and European art collections, which are not huge, but with high-quality works, well displayed. They are in the midst of constructing an addition - I'll be interested to see what the collection is like when they have almost twice the space they do now.
