“I could stay here all day, easily”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

but my family always drags me out ;(
An amazing series of exhibitions by some of the best curators and scholars in the art world, and housed in the most beautiful building that invites you to stop and look and study. Oh, and it's freeeeeeee.

“Great Day at the Art Museum”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

My friends I went and checked out the St. Louis Art Museum on 3/24. We had a wonderful time!

First off - the museum is free. What a way to encourage people to enjoy the arts!! It had some amaizng pieces including Monet's, Degas', Renoir's, and more. They are adding a major expansion so some of the galleries stuff had been moved around but we didn't mind. The European art section was our favorite. We also really enjoyed the armor collection as well as the period rooms. These are rooms set up with furniture, flooring, lighting, etc to look like a certain time. Although we went on a Saturday afternoon it wasn't super crowded. We were able to stop and enjoy each painting and not feel rushed. Also, the docents we ran into were friendly and helpful. All in all it was a great trip!

“Great photo exhibit, nice art museum”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

We visited the museum on a Friday and were able to see a great photography exhibit without paying the usual fee. We really enjoyed the exhibit as well as the rest of the museum. We visited on the last day of our four-day trip when we were headed out of town, so we were tired and didn't see the entire museum. We need to go back, and we will.

“Great Art Museum With Free Admission and A Beautiful Edifice”
Reviewed March 25, 2012

The St Louis Art Museum is a very nice museum to visit. They have awesome exhibits from time to time that you have to pay for, but they're worth the price (but admission to exhibits is free on Fridays). They have some "timeless" pieces of very impressive art for viewing. The North Eastern view from the museum, down Art Hill to the Grand Basin, is picturesque.
