Such a gift to St. Louis. But like everything else in the world, the prices so up every year so unless you are Donald Trump, don't expect to attend to many concerts, unless you wish to sit in the last row of the upper balcony. There is nothing wrong with that, but if you are disabled or have a hard time walking this is not the place for you.

Primarily classical music played here. Saw/heard my first live Nutcracker Ballet here. Very elegant surroundings and comfortable seating. Great acoustics so there's not a bad seat in the house, even way up, if you don't mind the climb. I'm sure they have elevators too. My son's high school graduation was held here. Such lovely surroundings. Don't be late - parking is at a premium, and they will make you wait till intermission.

Powell Hall is a big old movie theatre which was redone for the St. Louis Symphony. It 's a beautifully appointed place with much gold leaf and acoustically sound. And the St. Louis Symphony is probably among the five best orchestras in the United States.

Nice and spacious atmosphere. I've been here about 3 times to enjoy the symphony. Although the seating could be a bit more stadium-like, the chairs are comfortable. The lighting is well; the entrances and exits are adequate.

Until recently, I hadn't know that Powell Hall was built as one of the Grand Theaters, as was the Fox Theater just down the street. Powell Hall is elegant, with red velvet and gold and crystal. As the home of the St Louis Symphony Orchestra, local residents take it for granted. We shouldn't. It's beautiful, as well as very comfortable! Ticket prices encompass all ranges. If you want to see the full orchestra, choose a balcony seat.
