Went with my girl to the St. Louis Symphony-Hubbard Street Dance Chicago @ Powell Hall. She was going for a school project.

I tagged along and enjoyed the venue. Very nice architecture. The event itself was something I normally would not attend, but would on occasion in the future.

The surrounding area was lively for a Sunday afternoon. Parking was easy and safe. The staff was kind and helpful.

Attended a Disney concert with my family and we had a great time. The acoustics are great and the decor of the Hall takes you back to the time of the great theaters. There are a lot of good reastaurants nearby, we all highly recommend the Bistro Jazz Club. Parking is plentiful and nearby. The only cautionary note is for persons who struggle with stairs. We had seats in the Dress Circle Boxes. They provided a great view but the stairs getting to them were very steep. Persons who struggle with stairs would have had a difficult if not impossible time negotiating them. The grand tier boxes appear to be much easier to navigate are about the same price.

I attend the St. Louis Symphony regularly. Music Director David Robertson does an amazing job of creative programming and I have yet to hear a bad concert there.

We saw the Magic Flute as part of the Powell's symphony for children series. For children's events, they allow food and drink inside the auditorium.

The building is beautiful....gold leaf everywhere, red velvet seats, very clean. It was quite a hike up to our top-tier seats, but with the stadium seating we were able to see the action on the stage just fine. The ushers were very friendly. There are special wheelchair seating areas on the sides of the theater.

The seats are comfortable but you will have knee issues if you are taller than about 5"8....not a lot of room between the rows. Plenty of stalls in the women's bathroom and there were 2 on my side of the theater.

Before the event, you could buy hot chocolate, cake, coffee, and other sweet snacks. Parking was either $5 or $10, depending on how close you got...we arrived 30 minutes early and got into a lot across the street from the back of the hall.
