“Jefferson's Arch is beautiful and well done.”

Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Park
Reviewed October 21, 2013

The riverside park is beautiful! The arch itself is esthetically lovely and engineeringly marvelous.
The museum was an unexpected attraction, very well done. And the Louis and Clark movie is superb, well worth the extra hour at the site.

Grounds are large, well maintained/planned. It's a beautiful walk when weathers good & it was for us (late Sept).

The museum underneath the Arch is free, informative and fabulous. You have to take a rise to the top of the Arch! The park around the Arch is GORGEOUS and offers views of the old Courthouse, the Mississippi River and downtown St. Louis. I just took a 2 mile jog on the park and it compares favorably to Central Park and Chicago River front. Go see this American treasure and enjoy the city with the biggest heart in the Midwest.

The amazing Gateway Arch is a must see while in St. Louis. The park itself features riverboat excursions, the most affordbale carriage rides in the country, bike rentals and is just a stone's throw from the Old Courthouse (another MUST!), Laclede's Landing and the Old Cathedral (MUST!)

We went on a rainy day. There was a lot to see inside the museum, including little vignettes of historical items & animals.
Was happy they had a model of the car you ride in to get to the top. We sat in it before we purchased tix, & decided it was too claustrophobic. Would have not been happy if we had bought tickets first & then found out. The grounds outside were beautiful, with nice landscaped areas & a pond.
