“Great day, even in the cold!”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

My boyfriend and I spent all day in Forest Park and we didn't see everything! We visited the History Museum, Art Museum, the Jewel Box, the World's Fair Pavilion and ate lunch at the Boathouse. I'm a bit of a history geek, so I loved the museums...I could have spent all day in the History Museum! We found the park to be well maintained and easy to navigate. It was very cold the day we were there, so a lot of the day was spent with him pulling over and me running out to get a few pictures and then getting back in the warmth of the car! Even with the ice and snow on the ground, the park is definitely a beautiful place (especially considering you are in the middle of a city!) I really loved the fact that everything we did was free, aside from lunch. We plan to go back when the weather is warmer and explore more of the park!

“Science Center Interesting but a little worn”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

The Science Center has a lot of hands on activities for children, teens, adults, and seniors. It's free to go in but has fees for films and special areas. They have added a few new things since we started going 10 years ago but most of it is the same. The carpet, exhibits, etc. look a little bit better than they did two years ago when we went through; looks like they have made some repairs to exhibits. A great place to learn about science without realizing it and let's children find out that science can be fun.

“Nice Park which includes Art Museum and Zoo”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

Some areas of the park are nice and well maintained, other areas not so much and a little shady. Forest Park contains the Muny, the Zoo, the Jewel Box, the Art Museum, the History Museum, golf courses, walking/jogging trails and little lakes where anyone can rent out paddle boats. A nice place to spend a day.

“Still beautiful”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

I grew up in Saint Louis and had not been back for many years. Really enjoyed returning to the park on January1, 2014, especially the art museum. I have to say that I was just as impressed as when I visit the Golden Gate in San Francisco. Ok, it is certainly not as big as the Golden and Gate and does not have the bay view, though Forest Park has maintained a sense of stately beauty.

“paddle boats and picnic”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

We live in St. Louis, just minutes from this park, and it is one of our favorite ways to spend time outdoors with the five kids. On a day that is warm, but not hot, rent a paddle boat at the Boat House. We bring a lunch or snacks on board, and let the kids do the paddling. You get the boat for an hour ($17 with tax) and you have time to paddle to the center of the park--the grand basin. You will have a beautiful view of the Art Museum, and there are several fountains to steer toward and give the kids a wet thrill :) We like to float a bit, and eat lunch in the center of the basin, and then head back. You go under 2-3 bridges, depending on your route. Many times, after we return the boat, we follow the gravel bike trail back to the Grand Basin, and sit by the water and just read the afternoon away, fly a kite, or run up the huge Art Museum hill for the fun of rolling down!! The whole day is just simple outdoor fun that you'll love!
*There are bathrooms and water fountains near the boat rental, and inside the free Art Museum.
