Forest Park is about 50% larger than Central Park in New York and contains museums, the famous zoo, statuary, lakes. The place is magnificent and located just across the street from the Barnes medical complex.

Forest Park is definitely worth a stop on your trip to the city. The lawns are well cared for and the views are sweeping as well as breath-taking. The fountains provided some much needed relief from the heat, too much from some of the youngsters there as they used them as swimming pools.

Its a beautiful park with a lake and butterfly conservatory etc. You can take a long walk, run bike etc. There is also boating available at the lake! If you come at the right time of the year you can see the Muny or Shakespeare in the park too! The residences around the area are also glorious! I love the area

Forest Park has lots to spend an entire day visiting. Would be worthwhile to start at the visitor's center for a coffee and to get some info on where you would like to go. You will not be able to see everything in a day so can what is your priority.

Took the Metrolink from downtown (very easy to get around) and then the Forest Park Trolley picks you up and deposits you to your choice of attractions. We visited the History Museum and the Art Museum, which are free. The all day trolley was $2.00. Be sure to have lunch at the Bixby Cafe in the History museum...it was excellent. The Park is very well maintained.
