“A historic landmark”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

It was fun to visit this historic landmark on the old Route 66. A parking lot packed with cars and patrons, and yet, a very efficient staff. There was no wait in spite of the 70+ people in line. I'm not a fan of frozen custard, and therefore the 3 stars. But it was worth the experience. A piece of Americana.

“It's Just Custard”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

It's just custard for gawd's sake! Our friends (locals) took us there but they couldn't explain the crowd either. Considering there is another Ted Drewes nearby that is serving the same stuff and doesn't have nearly the same crowd the experience of just being with a hundred people eating custard must be the explanation. OK, it was good custard but still...

“Wow!”
Reviewed May 13, 2013 via mobile

Based upon friends recommendations, we headed here after a Cardinals game. We were a little turned off by the huuuuuge line, but rest assured it moves quickly and is WELL worth the wait. The frozen custard is the best I've ever had, even better than places in Wisconsin. The prices were excellent as well.

I suggest checking out their website for their menu and be prepared with your order when you get up to the window.

“Amazing concrete milkshakes”

We stopped while doing the route 66. The Dutchman concrete milkshake was just incredible. A must stop in Saint Louis.
