We planned a recent Cardinals/Jimmy's combo day with an afternoon day game at Busch, and then a trip to Clayton for the Sunday Night price fixe menu.

It wasn't a busy night, so the atmosphere was pretty generic, but we were happy to have a corner of the restaurant to ourselves.

We enjoyed the pace of the courses, and the quality of each was very good.

I could compliment a everything about the meal, but two dishes stood out:

Main Course: Polenta Chicken.....probably the best chicken dish I've had. Flavor was outstanding.

Dessert: Bread Pudding: This is a different take on bread pudding from the norm, and the sauce is perfect.

We felt like the value for the Sunday night menu was outstanding, and we would definitely go more if we lived closer. Highly recommended.

Great happy hour every time. Calamari and fried spinach is wonderful, as well as their flat bread! Drinks are made just right and not made weaker due to Happy Hour prices. Stay late and enjoy a wonderful dinner. Fish cooked perfect and try any of the nightly specials, perfect! We also come to have our favorite waiter assist us, Stephen. He is a joy, attentive and so very funny! We look forward to our every visit!

We frequently have lunch at Jimmy's and occasionally dinner (for quite a few yeas), most recently a couple of weeks ago. The restaurant is on a quiet side street a few blocks north of Clayton Road. The outside dining area is especially pleasant for lunch (park is across the street). Costs are reasonable, food is very good for both lunch and dinner. Atmosphere is conducive to conversation and the place is elegant without being stuffy. Service is very good. We plan to be there again for lunch this coming Friday. Often has (the quiet, light kind) small jazz groups on weekend.

My husband picked this spot out, sight-unseen and without a recommendation from anyone we know, as a special treat. It turned out to be just that – a real treat. Our Sunday late-morning brunch started out with the Mimosa Flight, three short cocktails that were so fun to savor while we waited and through our meal. I had the smoked trout and he had croissant french toast with bacon. The food was yummy, the music provided a great backdrop, people-watching was good, and the service was just right. We will go back. Maybe next time we'll take one of the sidewalk tables that looked so inviting!

After a long Friday at a dance event we were cold, tired and hungry. Gave Jimmy's a ring on our way into town from the airport. They had a table waiting when we arrived--a quiet corner in the midst of lively conversation elsewhere. Wonderful ambiance, friendly courteous staff and quick service. Our waiter was helpful though I declined his recommendation. My husband had the strip steak & I the roasted chicken fettucine. Both were delicious! Served hot--which is my hallmark. Large portions half of which went home with us for lunch. Go there. You'll enjoy.
