What a lovely, old-fashioned German restaurant. We go occasionally when we want a nice, quiet dinner. We had pistachio chicken, horseradish dressing on the salad, stuffed pork loin, and corn/shrimp soup. All very good, along with a nice selection of beers. No room for their great desserts this time.

My wife and I wanted to try something different for a change. We used this delicious restaurant as a splurge. Prices were reasonable and for German food which is rather difficult to find around St. Louis it was very good. The Huhn Schnitzel is delicious as well as the house made apple strudel.

We had a reservation of 10 people. 30 minutes no one even talked to us. 45 minutes to get drinks, most of which they were out of. 2 people ordered the same salad and they came out completely different. When we asked the server he smelled it and said that they were both ceaser. 1.5 hours in they come out and tell us they were out of one of the entree's a couple people ordered. By the way they were out of most things to start but it was amazing it took 1.5 hours to tell us. Apps were good minus the time it took so we had hopes about the entree's. All were terrible some I wouldn't even feed to my dog. Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant and I am including third world countries.

Great restaurant, great value for your money, and the place is pretty cute. The owners are so sweet, and the staff is great, attentive and caring. The sausage sampler, cheese puffs and ravioli as appetizers are just awesome. As for the entrees, any one will do but the sweet and sour pork was fantastic. They have a great brunch on Sundays with some more home style food for only 10 bucks. Make sure you try this place out.

This is a local German place that is just what you expect . . . good food, some historic touches to the restaurant, and a relaxed but respectable atmosphere.
As an added bonus, the owner is a historic car aficionado and he has hung photographs around the restaurant (including the rest rooms) without detracting from the historic touches of the building.
Food is good to very good and service, for the most part, is more than satisfactory.
Try the house dressing on the salad - it has horseradish in it and is fantastic.
