We returned to Chris' the second morning we were in St. Louis for breakfast, so you can tell we liked it.
On the first day, I had the Sicilian omelet, featuring Italian sausage, and my husband had the country omelet, with gravy. The second day he tried the Sicilian omelet and I had the spring frittata. I enjoyed both dishes. He liked the Sicilian omelet better than the country one, because the hash browns are incorporated into the country one, rather than served separately. We both had pancakes both days. Chris' doesn't skimp on butter and syrup, which is great.
Service was excellent both days. Several members of the staff stopped by to make sure our drinks were filled and all our needs taken care of.
While we had breakfast only, a glance at the menu assured us that the "dining" part of the restaurant's name also is probably well deserved.
Signs of various civic clubs adorning the front of the place demonstrate that it's highly regarded by neighborhood residents as well. Some of the diners obviously were regulars, and were greeted and visited with as such.
We were glad to be part of the Chris' family too, even if only for a couple of mornings. We'll return for a family reunion of sorts on our next visit to St. Louis.
