We ate here before a Cardinals game and we were not disappointed. Wonderful, delicious food and a ton of drink options. The restaurant has a lot of Cardinals memorabilia. I'd definitely visit Mike Shannon's again.

Several TripAdvisor’s reviewers underrate Mike Shannon’s Steaks & Seafood in our view.

Mike Shannon’s Steaks & Seafood is in the heart of downtown near Busch Stadium. Valet parking alleviates any parking concerns.

Mike Shannon’s Steaks & Seafood is a white tablecloth, upscale steakhouse with servers dressed in black. Mike Shannon’s Steaks & Seafood has a WOW appeal.

We read TripAdvisor prior to our St. Louis visit, and found several reviews wide of the mark. Mike Shannon’s Steaks & Seafood is an upscale steakhouse that bears absolutely NO resemblance to a neighborhood sport’s bar.

The clientele is well to do, and dressed in casual business class. There may be sports jackets, and the ladies may be in gold and diamonds.

Reviews in TripAdvisor have not prepared us for this large, handsome, masculine, wall-to-wall windowed property. The windows provide an excellent view of downtown St. Louis at night.

Mike Shannon’s Steaks & Seafood is a date night with your wife and a neat restaurant to celebrate special occasions.

We like this property, the hostess, the management, our server, Anthony, and the great dinner.

Of course, Mike Shannon’s Steaks & Seafood offers it’s own branded Cabernet Sauvignon.

Our table offers great views, and we like that. We admire the collection of mounted baseball bats, the framed photos of baseball heroes, and the neat-framed baseball shirts. All of this “art” is presented in a museum quality collection.

The huge well-stocked bar offers a second wall-to-wall glassed dining room. A private dining room is filled, and several private dining rooms on the lower level are filled. And there are special “nooks” for the ultimate in intimacy.

Oh, yes! Have we mentioned that the salad, porterhouse, and baked potato are all prepared to order. Anthony and the manager often inquire about the dinner preparation. No worries!

The fare is appropriate for the tariff. We shall return!

We had an excellent meal there. The food was great as was the atmosphere and decor. There is definitely a baseball theme but that does not take away the fact that it is still an excellent restaurant. We shared the Cajun shrimp as an appetizer and my wife had the swordfish and I had the Strip both of which were excellent. The steak was one of the better steaks I have had recently. The wine list was extensive and the Sommelier recommended a Sheridan Vineyard Cab Franc which proved to be a great choice. Jeffrey was our waiter and I would ask for him again.

The menu continues to surprise each time I visit this perfectly located downtown restaurant. As a long-time Cardinal fan, I love the location close to Busch stadium. We were in St. Louis for a long week-end, and attended several Cardinal games; but on the night we chose not to go to a baseball game, we had dinner at Shannon's & could still hear the cannons for the home runs & our waiter kept us updated on the score. Each menu item we tried was well prepared, but the kale salad had us wishing for more. Unhurried service makes this restaurant a very special treat.

In town on business and wanted a good steak. Was told this was the place to go. The Arborio Crusted, Matiz Peppers, Smoked Paprika Aioli Calimari appitizer was good. The Baby Spinach, Daikon Radish, Carrot, Seasonal Pear, Chinese Tea Eggs, Sesame Tuile, Ginger-pear Vinaigrette salad was good, but the 16 oz Ribeye that I went there for was very disappointing. I ordered it medium rare and got it medium. My two coworkers ordered their steaks, one strip and one porterhouse medium and got both medium well. Most disappointing was the cut of the Ribeye which had the entire half-moon tender strip missing. The flavor was OK, but when missing the most tender piece, overcooked and overpriced, I won't be back. The baseball memoribilia was nice, but that's no substitute for this quality of steak.
