On a recent visit to see my son in St L, he took me to the Crown for lunch. What a great experience!! Our whole party enjoyed our sandwiches and shakes. My egg salad needed some seasoning, but was still good and just a personal opinion I would probably try something else on my next visit, but will certainly return. We went on a Saturday and were there when they opened. There was a waiting line to get in within 15 minutes.

Went to Crown Candy for the first time last week and of course had the BLT and a chocolate shake. The sandwich was really good and piled high with bacon. We went on a Friday and got there when they opened, by the time we left there was a line out the door.

The place is pretty small and there is not much seating. The most you probably will be able to seat togther is 4 in a booth and maybe a small child seated in the aisle.

They sell candy and have many different types of ice cream as well. Probably not in the best neighborhood in town but still worth a visit.

A great throw back into the past. Old fashioned soda shop setting with high quality sandwiches and shakes. A favorite stop whenever I am in the area. Today I enjoyed a small bowl of chili that was similar to Steak-n-Shake chili, and a turkey on wheat. In the past the Ruben was great...every sandwich is a good choice and the shakes are enough for two!

One of the great traditions in St. Louis. CCK is frozen in time. Malts are terrific and big. Food is very basic, and unfortunately they've succumbed to the bigger is better idea when it comes to the BLT with about a pound of bacon on it. They even brag jokingly now about how it causes heart problems. All good fun, but detracts from the charm a bit. Be prepared to wait, and the service is abrupt, a bit crabby - but quick.

If you love bacon, than the BLT is for you...... One of the oldest businesses in St Louis. They make their own ice cream and candies.
!to order. One sandwich is more than two people can eat.
