“Cowboy Up!”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

Finally made it to Mission last night with a group of family members and think we have found our new home for 'real' Mexican food. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and got a table right away. Our server Bill came over and welcomed us and took drink orders. My wife and others ordered the Mission Margarita and really enjoyed them. Others ordered some craft beers, I skipped only because I was driving.

We started off by splitting the Carne Asada Fries, which is a must. I am not sure how they can make a flank steak taste so good, but it was one of the highlights of our meal.

I had the Cowboy burrito, which fills a plate but somehow does not make you feel like you ate that much food. It was seasoned just right and the cheese and sauce on top of it gave it a perfect taste, well done!

My wife had a variety of tacos and said they were all cooked and prepared to her taste.Others shared the same experience. There are many resturants around St. Louis but what really impressed us was the staff. Our server Bill was engaging and seemed to love to be around people and help them make the right selections. Their manager Alex stopped by twice to say hell-o and to make sure our food was prepared to our taste. It's always nice to have management take the time to ask how things are, thanks Alex, we will be back!

“Duck Tacos A Must!!”
Reviewed July 15, 2013 via mobile

My fiancé and I went to Mission Taco a couple of weeks back and were pleased with overall service, wait time and price. The duck tacos are well made and flavorful. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next day for more! A relaxed and open atmosphere. We rode our bikes and there were bike spots for us to lock them up and not have to worry. What droves us to go was the rating in the St. Louis publication, Alive magazine which rated them as a must go...and they were right. A welcomed cuisine addition from the norm in St. Louis.

“Good experience”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Went to Mission Taco Joint on Sunday night for the first time. The restaurant was located right on the corner and was easy to find. Surprisingly, parking on the street was also plentiful. Upon going inside, I found the place very nicely set up and clean. It was unclear whether we were to wait for seating or just seat ourselves. We asked one of the waiters running around and he said there was a hostess. It did take the hostess a while to arrive. After being seated (outside, per request) we looked over the paper menu for quite a while before anyone arrived to greet us or bring us water. When the waiter did arrive, we ordered drinks and the guacamole and chips appetizer. I originally was going to order a beer, but the waiter informed us that the bartender is a champion mixologist, so I switched to a cocktail. This was a good decision as both of the cocktails that we had were excellent. The chips and guacamole were good, plenty for two people. After that, we ordered tacos. We tried the beef brisket, the baja fish, the roasted duck, the cochinita pibil, and the yucatan chicken. Our favorites were the cochinita pibil and the yucatan chicken. The sauce on the fish tacos was great, and they could have used more. The fish itself was nothing special. After the initial slow service, everything picked up and our waiter had a good personality.

Visited for lunch over the 4th holiday. All in all not bad; the drinks were very good. Had the asada fries and 2 piggies burrito. I'd go back, but it didnt blow my socks off.

“Great Variety for a Great Price”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

We subscribe to STL Magazine and this was a place we just had to try based on the issue called "Cheap Eats!" Mission Taco recently opened in the Delmar Loop. We love the loop and recently moved close to the are and wanted some good tacos fast! Upon entering, we were told there would be a wait, but we didn't mind, when a place is busy, it usually means the food is good! We grabbed a beer at the bar and instantly wished that we would of ordered one of the cocktails (next time for sure!) The cocktail menu looks interesting and incorporated a lot of interesting ingredients. We ordered salsa and chips and it comes with two salsas. One they feature for the day and their regular. It was great! They also refilled it for us as we couldn't get enough! We ordered three tacos ranging from chicken, cactus, steak, and more. The chicken had the most flavor and I would order tacos their again! We also had great service! The waiter was patient and offered to answer any questions we had about the tacos!

You will love it!
