Las Palams is really a hole in the wall restaurant in a small strip mall, but one of the best Mexican restaurants in the St Louis area. Service starts with a generous helping of complimentary chips and salsa . Everything is cooked to order from tacos and burritos to more elegant dishes like carne asada (marinated steak served with onions, tomatoes, peppers, rice, re-fried beans and guacamole) for 9.95, pescado Veracruz (red snapper olives, tomatoes, onions, and rice in a Veracruz sauce) for 12.95 and a combination plate -- a pick two from burritos, tacos, chile relleno, chimichanga, chalupa, enchilada or tamale for 8.95! Ho.memade desserts (at 3.95) include sopapilla and fried ice cream
Service is fast, the food wonderful and the cocktails are fabulous! For a little place, the menu is extensive and far superior to the more chain-like restaurants.
For an inexpensive evening out with great food, try Las Palmas.
