“Not worth the money”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

This aquarium is very run down. It took our family of four just under 30 minutes to tour the entire aquarium. The kids were very disappointed. There was no air conditioning; so the air was very stale and smelled horrible. Would not recommend.

“Great Place to Take Kids!”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

We have been to the City Museum several times and we have different ages of grandkids. There is something there for everyone. They have lots of hands-on animals that all kids like and a good array of others especially in water. We went a couple of times and didn't realize that there is a lot in the rear that we hadn't even seen before. Lots of animals in nice aquariums to see. Recently, I purchased as a groupon from Amazon a 4-hour day camp for one of my grandkids. He had been through a one or two hour "camp" with my husband and knew what was going to happen so we left him there in the care of personnel. Both times it has been with the same guy and my grandson LOVED it!!!! I don't know the gentleman's name but I will post a picture of both of them.
He was just thrilled and anytime we mention going to the City Museum (it is inside of the museum - don't be misled) they all want to go to the World Aquarium.

“8.00 fee plus 13.00 entry fee per person just to get into the museum/ plus 10.00 parking”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

The Aquarium was amazing. They have maps in the aquarium to which animals you can pet, which ones you can't. The tanks are enormous and the animals are well kept. They have sharks, fish, turtles, snakes, sloths, rodents, birds, etc.. The shark/stingray/turtle tanks are huge and fun to look inside. It was fun and the animals were exciting !

“Not your typical aquarium”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

We took a semi private tour (two adults, two teenagers, 3rd grader, and toddler) so that gave the additional boost to the rating. If not on the tour then average at best possibly poor since you would have to pay for the city museum as well. The aquarium is on the 2nd floor of the City Museum (have not been there but it looks unique). Our tour guide was excellent and was both an animal person and artsy person. It is on the smaller side and exhibits are close together in no real order most of the time. The tour included lots of hands on feedings and pettings, well worth it just for that. How often do you get to feed a Kinkajou or Sloth? Those were just two of the dozen or so species we got to feed or handle. The two headed turtle is weird and the otters are cool. Oh yeah, you get to feed them also if you are over 12. The anteater wouldn't come out for us to feed but that was the only animal we did not get to encounter. The tour even takes you "backstage". It is a little area but more handling of animals!!! Bottom line is sign up for the tour if you want more than a ho hum experience. DONT BRING A STROLLER!!!!!! We had a Boba and Baby Bjorn type thing would work too.

“Go with an open mind and you might just enjoy a different sorta day”
Reviewed July 26, 2013 via mobile

We went on a semi private tour lead by a very bright high schooler. He did his best to include everyone and took care with the the younger kids. The tour and information was amazing. Although the tanks were a mess and in need of a major cleaning. If you can look past that go... the kids got to touch snakes, armadillos, stingrays, sharks and lots of other animals including a fish manicure. They also got to feed anteaters and sloths.
