We cam to Lone Elk Park on a frosty November morning. There were numerous trails through the picturesque landscape and we went on a two mile hike. The choices ranged from 400 yards through to many miles.
We were the only one in the park when we first arrived and we startled a few deer (maybe elk) when we first started walking.
After our hike we continued around the park in our car and it was great to see the bison. The young baby bison was a joy to see and we made sure we stayed in our car and kept plenty of distance from his wary mother.
As it was a Sunday or early in the day, the bird sanctuary was closed.
