“Hotel is average location is good”
Reviewed July 5, 2014 via mobile

Hotel is close to arch area and about a mile walk to downtown area another half mile to Busch stadium.
Rooms are ok, decor is a bit outdated or maybe an attempt at 70s retro. Beds are comfortable, suites are nice and adequate space. Bathroom is small and not well lit.
Staff is friendly and helpful and I was impressed with their upbeat attitude.
Didn't do much at casino other than the diner attached to it. Food was good but service was a tad slow.
Overall it was good and probably would stay again for overnight or two but no more than that.

“Customer Service Lacking”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

My wife and I spend a lot of time in casinos across the USA. This one is near the bottom for customer service.

Players Club - waited extended times for help three trips to booth with almost no line. 2 of the 3 times the boothling barely even conversed with us. Actual concrete information about levels and rewards was difficult to extract. Grade D.

Bars - With one exception, bartenders appeared annoyed that we needed something. Drinks are very pricey, on the average of what they would cost outside of a casino. Given that most casinos in the USA give FREE drinks to players, you would think there would at least be a player discount. The Non-smoking bar was a service exception, Both bar tenders were energetic, lively, engaged us in conversation and were attentive. Our drinks were checked regularly, and these two gentlemen appeared to really love their job and their customers. Grade C exception-smoking bar Grade A.

Cocktail service on the floor - Abysmal. When they were not TOTALLY non-existent, they moved through the rows speaking barely above a whisper. We were basically responsible for getting their attention and flagging them down. This is unacceptable, behavior towards machine players in a casino. Grade F.

Games - plenty of slots and video poker. Table limits from $10-$100 minimums and plenty of them. Good layout. Grade B.

Hosts - for our level of play we have a host in most of the casinos we play at. Here, they were AWOL most of the time we were there. When we finally met with one, we were satisfied with getting our room comped, but had NO actual dialog with the host and never once were called by name, asked how our stay was, what we thought of the property, etc. Grade D.

Diner - Our waitress was very educated about the menu, answered questions, and was super prompt. She was friendly and attentive. Food was solid diner fare and prices were reasonable. Grade B for the diner overall, waitress Grade A.

Overall rating C. Casinos are all over the country. We have been where there are many in one location (Las Vegas) and where there are few. Customer service is a KEY element of a good casino experience. We want to feel noticed, and as if we are a little special. We got none of that here and even less. They have the games, they have the money, but they are lacking the polish.

“Casino Just OK, Hotel Not Very Nice”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

As casinos go, this one was OK at best. We we there on a Monday night, and the line for the buffet was so long we gave up and went elsewhere. Drinks were expensive, too. We did not like the hotel at all. The carpet in the halls was filthy, and so wre the stairwells. Our bathroom had one small light over the sink, but none over the shower, so you could hardly see what you were washing! The hairdryer did not work. They tell you at check-in that if you open the minibar for more than x number of seconds (I forget how long), you will be charged! i wanted to go look at the pool and hot tub to see if I wanted to bother going upstairs to change and get in. I strolled in, holding my room key in my hand. The attendant came running out of the gym to scold me for not having a special bracelet for the pool. I assured him that I was only looking, but he told me that did not matter, so I left. NOT a classy spot at all! I would advise staying in another downtown hotel or going to a different casino!

“Very disappointing buffet!!!”
Reviewed June 22, 2014

We have been here on a couple of occasions and the food was great but not this time. Stopped in tonight after the Cardinal game. Selections were poor, food was cold had no taste and it was all around just bad. Luckily it was a cheaper price than what we had paid previously.
They had a carving station, however the "gentleman" working there was too busy talking to help the customers. The sushi were cut into huge pieces, the rice was under cooked and the fried chicken tasted like it was cooked and then re-fried. We were so extremely disappointed and others customers could be heard complaining as well. We probably will not visit again!!!

“Casino was good, hotel it as much”
Reviewed June 17, 2014 via mobile

We had a good time at the casino and it was a nice small playing environment. The Lumiere hotel was not as pleasant. The hallways to the rooms were disgustingly dirty. One of the elevators on our end of the hotel was not working, so elevator waits were long. Do not take the stairs because they were worse than the hallways and smelled terrible. The skywalk to the casino smelled horrible also. Although the staff was friendly to us, we were near the housekeeping area and there was always housekeeping carts all over the hallway, and the housekeepers would stand outside of the room complaining about hotel management, how many rooms they had to clean, and their work schedule. The second day we were there they cleaned the room but did not put clean towels in the room. The room was pretty clean though. Although the rooms were free, because of a promotion we received, we will be staying at the Four Seasons next time. We will not stay there again, free rooms or not.
