“good sandwiches”
Reviewed July 5, 2012

very simple, but delicious sandwiches. We got the prosciutto and the salami cotto sandwiches, and both were great.

Salume Beddu is a small restaurant specializing in artisan cured meats. Outstanding quality. An epicurean delight in south STL.

“Incredible artisan meats and gourmet foods”
Reviewed July 19, 2011

Salame Beddu is relatively new and specializes in artisan cured meats and other gourmet specialty food items. The co-owner have parents who were from italy, and he in turn spent many hours with his mother trying to locate italian food ingredients. Some of the offerings here are pretty straightforward , while others are quite exotic. the prices are also very reasonable concerning the amount of time and effort that goes into the product. They are very serious about meats and it shows. There's a story in the wall street journal about the owner attempting to smuggle into the country certain types of meats which are not allowed to be imported so that he can reverse engineer them to sell to his customers here. Thee other co owner has a tattoo on his arm of all the cuts of meat from a pig when is butchered.

If at all possible go on a weekend when they offer sandwiches another menu items made from the product. I guarantee you that'll be the 1 of the best sandwiches you ever had.
