Suson Park is a little piece of wonderful seated right between the South St. Louis area and Jefferson County. On a pretty day, you'll see lots of people in their lawn chairs fishing in one of several fishing lakes. LOVE that! The playground is pretty big with even a place for simulated rock climbing for the kiddos. The grounds are kept impeccably clean. The best part though is the petting zoo or the barn where the little ones can walk through and pet the animals. There is NO fee for this, there's only a place where if you WANT to, you can leave a donation and all the $ is spent on the animals.

There are pavilions to be reserved for parties and large picnic areas that you can use for free (first come first serve) for parties. This is just a great place to come and relax. Still a safe place for the kids :-)

Suson Park is another one of the quiet, hidden gems of the suburbs of St. Louis. This beautiful park has a small lake, lots of ducks and geese, barns with farm animals and pavilions for picnics. The animal viewing is seasonal, and there is no entrance fee, just a polite request on a pole at the entrance for a donation of any denomination. The donation can be put right into the pole and is used to help feed the animals. A favorite for schools during warmer weather, this park can also be visited at less busy times for a quiet stroll, or just sitting in one's car to take in the serenity.

The park is nice and small enough you don't get worn out walking around. Kids can fish and walk around and look at horses ,cows , pigs , goats, peacocks , bunnies , etc. There is also a play ground and it's all FREE! Great picnic place.

I took my daughter here to see the animals in the farm area. They have everything from horses to cows, chickens, goats, pigs, and more. This is not a petting zoo, but for a free attraction at a county park, it is well worth a visit. If you have young children this is a perfect stop for 1-2 hours to see the animals, walk around the ponds, and visit the playground. The only downside is areas of the park have been taken over by geese so you have to watch your step, even on the main walkways. Overall, I was very impressed and wish we had places like this near home.

I love Suson park. I went here a lot with my grandpa when I was little. They have a nice lake where you can feed ducks or fish. They also have a nice pavilion and playground. A good place to spend a nice day.
