We met some old friends to attend a performance at the Fox. We all arrived close but only three of the four rooms were ready. Even though it was well after 3 PM, we had to wait even though our friends were wanting to move on. Eventually we got in but I think the cleaning suffered as a result. The room was not adequately supplied and upon showering we found a large hair ball in the drain. The common areas are very nice as are the rooms although the walls are not insulated to the outside so be prepared to turn the thermostat up during cold weather. The rooms are also small with only a desk chair for sitting. But we were not spending much time there so this was not an issue. The staff was wonderful and the design is unique.

If you need to stay downtown St Louis, and planning to attend the Fox Theatre, Powell Auditorium, St Louis University.... you can't find a better hotel and location. The staff is great, the hotel is high tec. in style, the rooms are confortable, and the price is right. We will certainly return to Hotel Ignacio on our next overnight stay in St Louis.

Room Tip: They have a gym/spa, we did not use it. Parking is extra ($9. per night). As of now, no breakfast...

We found this hotel when looking online for a place to stay near the Fox Theatre and have been back several times since. The hotel is a small boutique with interesting sculptures outside, nice art work in the lobby and in the guest rooms, an extremely friendly and helpful staff, as well as very comfortable rooms featuring some advanced technological features. The cafe off the lobby is good for coffee and/or breakfast (except on Sunday), and the attached Triumph Grill restaurant is very good for lunch, dinner, or drinks and snacks. There is a nearby surface parking lot as well as an SLU parking garage a bit farther away. Taxis must be called in advance and are slow to appear, so this location is best if you plan to walk or drive yourself to where you need to go.

Room Tip: Higher rooms will have less noise from downtown streets.

Came to St. Louis for our daughter's admission interview at SLU. The hotel was in a good location, and most importantly was very comfortable. The art is impressive, and the restaurant connected to the hotel was good too. I'd stay here again.

Even though we live in suburban St. Louis, we did not know about this wonderful boutique hotel contiguous to St. Louis University. What a GREAT property. Initial impression is that you have entered a private residence art collection room. The lobby is beautiful. My understanding is that the major owner is indeed the university.
Location is superb for the theatre district. This is the closest hotel -easy walking distance to- the Fox Theatre, Powell Symphony Hall, The Sheldon Theatre, and several other nearby art venues. As mentioned, it is contiguous to SLU and therefore close to every building there, including Chaifetz Arena, University Church ( a must see), and more.
The incredible renovation gives you state of the art technology in the spacious rooms. A built in Ipad gives you access to everything possibly needed, and is also your telephone Big flat screen HD television, great walk-in shower with overhead dropping water supply. Quiet and immaculately clean. About 50 rooms overall.
Reception staff was absolutely wonderful. Friendly, professional and efficient. Nice initmate breakfast area with wonderful attendant. Next door, with a private entrance from the hotel is the Triumph restaurant and lounge. Perfect spot for a good meal, a snack or just drinks.
For a top notch small hotel, the room rates are reasonable...not cheap, but reasonable.
For a quick getaway, a theatre excursion, campus visit, or central based city visit.....you will probably be quite pleased with the Hotel Ignacio.

Room Tip: Be sure to enjoy the art work and to visit the incredible University Church a couple block west of t...

Let me start with the caveats: their restaurant (is not always open, the bar closes at 10 PM (however, the staff is happy to share a beer with you if they have any left in their fridge), and the location is a bit off the beaten path, so it's best to have a car (MetroLink is about 10 minutes away, taxi takes about 10 minutes to arrive; alternatively, they'll give you a bike for free).

However, despite all this I loved Hotel Ignacio and I whole-heartedly recommend it to individual travelers. You'll find a super nice and helpful staff, cool, minimalist rooms, and intriguing art artifacts abound. It's a casual place, run by passionate and friendly people, whose goal is to make sure that you enjoy your stay. – I did.

Thank you for your kind words. It really means a lot when our guests take the time to write a review. One of our team members said it best in regards to our most recent TripAdvisor reviews: "We have the best guests!". I couldn't agree more! Thank you. Stacey Howlett, General Manager

We stayed here on February 9th. to celebrate 2 February birthdays. We were very impressed by this hotel. It is very clean, modern and we loved the art thru out the hotel. Katie and Bee at the front desk were the best . We will return to this gem.

Room Tip: Our rooms were near the elevator but did not hear a thing.
