My visit to Hotel Ignacio was an outstanding hotel experience. The Hotel has a beautiful, light and energizing modern design but its location and the retention of some motifs from the previous use of the building give it a warmth and sense of place also. The room was excellent, ultra-functional, utltra-comfortable and well-appointed. The foyer, cafe and bar area was just a pleasure to be around; expensive and authentic modern art on the walls from the university collection, beautiful modern furniture and excellent food from the cafe, a remarkable rest-room design. A place one could linger in happily, with the experience enhanced by the fact that the cafe is also a general cafe for non-residents giving it a living, vital feel. The food was top-class and the coffee equally so. The staff in the hotel went all the way to be friendly and helpful and the sales manager, Rachel Crowley, was the utlimate professional but still brought an important human feeling to the experience, as did the other staff. All in all staying in Hotel Ignacio was a memorable experience and I would unhesitatingly recommend it.

I found this hotel to be very modern and of high quality. Very different than your standard Hampton or Holiday Inn. Service was very good throughout my stay. Bathroom and especially the shower were really cool, and the high end mattress felt just like mine at home. Big HD flat panel in the room. The hotel is next to a college if you're into that kind of thing, and a Ducati and Triumph motorcycle dealership is right next door. It only took me a few minutes to get to a restaurant squarely downtown and the drive took me through the Locust area, which appeared to be one of the more trendy areas. I look forward to staying at this hotel on my next trip.

Arrived, it was great. Not well marked, little hard to find. Check in good, but no bellman. Staff very friendly and informative. Only reserved for one night; they had us down for two. No problem there sicne we told them we were Going to Springfield and might be back the next night; we would let them know in the am. They said no problem. They gave great recommendations on where to eat. The little bar, tapas restaurant was great. Requested two beds; got to the room and only had one. They were quick to remedy this; no problem. Next day we elected to stay another night but were informed that they were sold out and we couldn't stay. WELL on to Springfield!

Hotel Ignacio is a fine hotel, nicely furnished throughout with some nice art. The service was very friendly and the room and bathroom a nice size. We were disappointed that the restaurant stops serving at 10pm as we had been to a concert at the Fox and got back late. The bar was open but no food.
Also, we couldn't get bottled water at the desk as they had run out. I would expect the staff to show initiative and get more from the storeroom or bar.
Apart from the above a great stay. Be sure to check out the motor bikes next door, an incredible selection.

Great hotel overall. Very modern and wonderful ambiance. Our only frustration was our televisions didn't work in the suite and we were here to relax and celebrate our anniversary. They really need pay per view and working TV service. The staff did what they could to respond but we ended up being slighty bored with the lack of entertainment.

Room Tip: Check to be sure TV is working.

Management response:Responded June 22, 2012

First, let me thank you for celebrating your anniversary with us. Second, I feel terrible that there were television issues in the suite living room. We have been preparing for a television upgrade and had been assured that all systems were working properly only to find out after your check-in that the television was not working. Our assistant general manager will be in touch with you so that we can do our part to make sure that we did everything we could to remedy the situation. Kindly, Stacey Howlett

We stayed at Hotel Ignacio for the VISA national gymnastics championships and were SO impressed with this property. The artistic details, the modern touches, the upscale amenities and the amazingly comfortable beds - combined with its great location and Pintxos cafe - all made for one of the best hotel stays I have ever had. Keep up the great work...we will be back soon!

After staying in a fantastic hotel in Chicago, my wife and I thought that the only way next would be down. Wrong! We turned up at the ignacio not really knowing what to expect, and I must say, as soon as we walked into the lovely lobby, our reservations were alleviated. The hotel owners have put a lot of thought and care into the design and what comes across is a fantastic little hotel. Our room was lovely along with the complimentary l'occitain toileteries. The staff were equally as charming and couldn't be helpful enough and gave us some useful tips for our brief stay. If you are ever considering a trip to st Louis, I would definitely recommend this hotel. Oh, and it's a 2 min walk from pappys smokehouse!!!! Which you MUST check out..
