Our family subscribes, so we have seen many shows at Powell. The venue is fabulous, and the sound in the hall is great anywhere you sit and affordable tickets are always available. Students can even get $10 tickets to many shows. They offer a wide variety of shows, including family concerts and an amazing holiday lineup each year. If you live anywhere near, you really should check it out.

We go a couple times a year for performances and enjoy it each time. It is a beautiful hall and a Christmas it is decorated fantasticly. We make a night of it by going to dinner before hand at one of the many restaurants in Grand Center. After the Christmas show we go to one of the award winning ice cream restaurants in the area (Fountain on Locust, Baily's Chocolate restaurant, or in Kirkwood Cyrano's).

TIP: If you park ($10) in the lot across from the north side of the hall you can enter from the side. This saves you many steps from having to walk up and around the block.

I went to listen to "All Mozart" with student's tickets. Fair prices, elegant decorations, and Mozart. Love it! It's definitely a place to go when travel in St. Louis. Good entertainment on Friday.

It is truly wrth your effort to buy tickes to this symphony if you are in St Louis during the season, Sept through May. In June it is also a terrific line up with special programs starting mid May, this year, for example, Pink Floyd tribute, a Swing concert, Beatles music, etc.The venue in Powell Hall makes you want to dress up, but there is nothing stuffy about St. louis, so people feel just as comfortable attending in jeans. What you do feel is the respect and appreciation of the audience for its superb symphony under the direction of musical director David Robertson or any number of talented guest directors. I particularly like the talks 1/2 hour before each performance. They always enhance my awareess of what is going on with the music during the concert. They give several free concerts throughout the year, at venues other than Powell.
