“Another fine free facility”
Reviewed March 17, 2012

This museum, like all other Forest Park attractions, is free. That does not mean it doesn't have anything to offer though! It is filled with information of St. Louis' past, and holds exhibits that explore other areas of interests with a small fee. Parking is free too and the building itself is beautiful to take pictures of.

“Very Interesting and educating in a fun way”
Reviewed March 5, 2012

I really enjoyed the history of St. Louis exhibits upstairs at the museum. There were a few things in each exhibit to involve young children, which was nice. If your children are interested in history and are at reading age or above, this is a great choice. I have a 9 year old who really enjoyed it. My 3 year old had fun, but there was not much to keep his interest, so the rest of us (me, my husband, my sister, my older son) kept getting pulled away from pieces of the exhibit too soon.
The pricing for the special exhibits were a little steep in my opinion, but I understand that general admission is free, as is parking, so I don't mind paying a little more for an exhibit.
Bottom line--a fun way to learn about St. Louis history, especially with children that are school-aged+. Toddlers will have fun, but not be entertained for long.

“Not worthwhile”
Reviewed February 18, 2012

While displays are clean and orderly, the place is small and not worth what you have to pay to see any special event. Plus, if there is more than one event, you have to pay for each. Better off going to then world-class museums in Chicago than wasting your time here.
