Having lived in St. Louis for a while now, I love spending time in City Garden. As far as if it's showy or incredibly beautiful, not so much, but there is a great deal of art to look at, fun shooting fountains, and the atmosphere is buzzing. It's a beautiful place to just sit and think or have lunch.

I live about 2 blocks from the City Garden and I walk my Dog through this park almost every single day, rain or shine. Clean beautiful little park with the perfect view of the Arch and Court House

This place is very neat. I wouldn't go out of my way to drive there on a day outing but if you are in the area for sure stop by. It is pretty neat. I love the ground that shoots up water. At night it is beautiful with the different color lights reflecting the water up in the air. Neat park to have in our downtown area.

The City Garden was really the highlight of our spring vacation last year. One could sit and watch the dancing colored waters bursting from the pavement all night! Really a symphony of light and water, quite majestic. My youngest enjoyed running through the waters like every other kid, while my teenager was mesmerized by the beauty of the lights and the astounding art sculptures throughout the gardens. Modern, chic, inquisitive, fascinating and charming fit these alluring grounds. Pack an evening snack, sit back and enjoy!
Security is present at all the parks just to make sure your evening is as safe as it is beautiful.
Thank you st. Louis for this beautiful place, my kids will talk about it the rest of their lives!

CityGarden lies squarely within downtown St. Louis, and it's a two-block long respite from big city grunge. Whether it's sculpture, gardens, or just kids having fun that make you happy, just about everyone finds something to like.

The garden is convenient to both St. Louis Cardinals baseball and the Old Courthouse; when I say it's close to the Old Courthouse, it's then not much of a walk to the Gateway Arch, although the narrow sidewalk over the interstate highway apparently stops some people from walking to the Arch.

If your idea of a garden requires acres and acres of monoculture in bloom, try something else. Obviously in a tight city space with 40 or so sculptures, several fountains, paths, and so forth, the garden part is highly curated. But it's delightful and will be greatly appreciated by people who love interesting landscapes.

The sculpture too includes world renowned names you will recognize. Although it seemed impossible in concept to place so many sculptures in such a small space, in reality, every element of the landscape has been arranged to complement the art and create a unique whole.

Even though I love both gardens and art, watching kids of all age play in the water features is my favorite part of the CityGarden experience. Set aside more than an hour, even though the space is small. If you have time for a meal during cafe hours, you won't be disappointed either.

This venue is crowded on weekend days when the weather is mild and also immediately before baseball games. Plan accordingly.
