The forecast was for rain, so our St Louis itinerary changed to indoors activities. What a beautiful Basilica AND I wholeheartedly recommend taking the tour, not just visiting. You need to call ahead to reserve a tour time slot but it is well worth it. Our tour guide was entertaining and informative. We learned so much from him not only about the Catholic church but the city of St. Louis AND the symbolism around all the beautiful mosaics throughout the interior. This is a must see even on a sunny day!

The beauty and grandeur of the St Louis Cathedral Basilica is magnificent. It should rank with one of the best basilica sites of the world, in my opinion. Recently, we attended one of their concerts and it's a great setting. However, I'd advise to sit as close to the front as you can, as there can be an echo effect.

A must see while in St. Louis. This Basilica is so beautiful, even my teenage boys were impressed! The Cathedral is open every day from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM. They offer tours daily between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM but we just went in and took pictures on our own.

You can do a self tour or a guided tour. Wonderful displays of mosaics. Artistry at it's best! Absolutely worth the time. Great for a couple of hours to fill in anyone's schedule.

The beautiful interior mosaics are unbelievable! The architecture is amazing. There are so many different types of marble. I try to attend Mass there when I am in St. Louis. I have taken many friends and family there just to see the amazing artistry inside of the Cathedral. The gift shop has some great items as well, be sure to stop in and visit with them. The people working there have many stories and a great knowledge of the history.
