There are beautiful churches throughout the world and this is one of the finest. All faiths will enjoy this special work of art. Once you see it you will understand why it is the number 1 attraction in St. Louis.

You must see the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis! I love historic churches and we always check them out whenever we pass one, but this church is really really special. We went in on a Sunday before evening Mass and there was an organist playing. The interior of the church is filled with a golden glow due to the thousands..maybe millions of pieces of glittering gold glass pieces on the ceilings. It was so peaceful in there. It was far more grand and ornate than I thought it would be after looking at pictures online. I never expected something like this in the U.S! You definitely don't have to be religious to fully appreciate the beauty of this church. The mosaic museum is $1 but you can just walk in the front doors and they welcome you to look around. There is parking on the street and some on the backside of the church. Again, make sure you see the inside of this breathtaking church!!!!!

This church has the largest display of mosiacs. It is just incredible. The outside reminded me of Notre Dame in Paris. We got there around 10:00 (daily mass is earlier) and had the church basically to ourselves. I was in awe of all the beautiful work in the church. Really a must-see if you have time.
