“Great hotel!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

Loved this hotel, great customer service. Loved having the movie theater in the hotel. Rooms were very nice. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating. Loved the neighborhood as well. Also enjoyed the bar and lounge areas, they had great singers/musical groups on Friday and Saturday nights. There is also a very nice outdoor area with a bonfire, wooden chairs and tables, and couches. Overall, very cozy, clean, trendy, and friendly environment. I would definitely stay there again.

Thank you for the many wonderful compliments of The Chase Park Plaza. It always delights us to hear about a guest's positive experience and it doesn't get much better than the account of your visit. A St. Louis getaway can be the perfect escape and our location is just right for taking it all in. However, with so many ways to relax right here, from our cozy outdoor areas, live entertainment in Chaser’s Lounge and even our very own movie cinema, guests may never want to leave! We look forward to your next visit and we hope it’s soon.

I recently stayed at the Chase Park Plaza for a conference. The facilities were excellent and the hotel even has its own movie theater running current movies. I stayed in a one bedroom suite; there was a nice study area in an alcove off of the living room and a fully stocked mini-bar complete with salty snacks and candy. The bedroom had a king size bed with a safe and a complimentary robe for use during your stay. The bathroom was a little snug, for my taste, but clean nonetheless. The conference venues were very nice especially the fact that i can only remember being cold once during the four day event. One of the problems that I had was that during our luncheon buffet the primary proteins were depleted in both lines which held up the line quite a bit, and it took the staff a significant amount of time to replenish these items. Other than that all of the food was delicious and always left me craving seconds. The hotel is located in the central west end area of St. Louis and offers great opportunities for an after-dinner stroll or a nightcap in one of the many boutique shops; if you want to stay in the hotel has several restaurants and bars to choose from, some of which had GREAT live music on friday and saturday. This is a great hotel and I look forward to staying here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a high level east facing room for views of the iconic Arch, or a south facing room to people...

We stayed here last summer while I had a two week break from Afghanistan. It was beautiful! The pool scene is awesome during June- with a bar and music, and food outside. Inside, there is a movie theater and so many restarants within walking distance. Very close to the zoo also. We enjoyed ourselves.

Located at the north east corner of Forest Park (the Midwest rival of New York City's Central Park) this historical register hotel offers all the amenities you may require on your stay in St. Louis. This hotel is less than 2 miles from the Washington University of St. Louis campus. The hotel is located in the desirable central west end of St. Louis, near the Cathedral Basilica and the hospital district.

This hotel is beautifully maintained with friendly and professional staff. Restaurants and bars are on location. The bar serves lunch as well and I had a wonderful salmon salad. The breakfast cafe offered a solid choice of items though service was a bit slow. An overflow bar is located in the elegant first floor space. Conveniently, a 6 screen movie theater is housed on the first floor. Movies are offered throughout the afternoon and well into the evening. Valet parking and self park is available. As is common in my experience of St. Louis hotels, your room card is required on the elevator to gain entry to any floor other than the lobby.

We benefited from an excellent rate and found the room (really a suite) very well appointed. The furniture and furnishings were simply beautiful. Like many older hotels the windows are a bit smaller than I would like; natural light was more limited. Located on the 7th floor, the view from our room was limited but we were able to go to the top floor and saw a lovely view of Forest Park and the main business district of St. Louis in the distance. Our room had a small entry space with a separate alcove and an office sized desk. The entry then opened to a living space with a table and four chairs along with 2 comfy chairs and an ottoman with a flat screen TV. The separate sleeping room had a comfortable queen bed and a 2nd flat screen TV. The bathroom was a good size. The vanity was reasonably sized but the sink itself was particularly small. There was a wonderful full walk-in closet with a safe. Finally, you controlled the temperature of the barely audible central heating system. The bathroom also had an exhaust fan - one of my favorite amenities, so I can have privacy in getting ready in the morning without feeling like I am in a sauna. I understand the facility offers executive apartments as well. I could easily see our room converted to one.

The hotel offers spa services but I did not try them. Based on the hotel's excellent presentation I would expect these services to be great as well.

We did enjoy the outdoor fire pit one evening and the adjoining seating near the pool (which is seasonally open).

My only complaint is my standard one, WI-fi is a $7.99 charge/24 hours. Free WI-fi is available in the lobby. When will hotels understand this should be an included charge - they certainly can build it into the room charge. As a final note, the extras of tipping in a full service hotel should be expected but the service was worth it. I would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of Forest Park.

The Chase Park Plaza is indeed a historical gem and a pleasurable experience for all who visit! We love when a guest takes the time to detail all that they have enjoyed while staying with us from our location, convenient to so much that makes this city spectacular to our smartly appointed accommodations and sumptuous public areas. As you mentioned, we do charge a minimal fee for Internet connectivity in individual guest rooms and complimentary wireless in all public areas but we hope that it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience for you. We look forward to welcoming you back for another amazing experience, thank you for your feedback.

We stayed here one night in a one bedroom suite (Room 936, March 2013). I love the architecture, lobby, theatre. Location in Central West End is unbeatable. The suite's parlor was quite large and well decorated. At this price point and star rating, I would have expected a Nespresso machine or some kind of tea/coffee-making machine in the room. Perhaps I didn't look hard and long enough. Room was quiet. Bathroom needed serious renovation. Shower stall was stained and peeling. Showerhead--dated. Work was just shoddy in the bath area. Only one bathrobe for a suite booked for two adults (and one child--didn't expect one for her of course!). Its always the little things that set a 5 star/4 star hotel apart. Service was courteous and prompt when we called to have the sofa sleeper made up for our daughter. The Sunday Brunch is a bit overrated and not especially sumptuous. Plenty of sweets. Crepes were surprisingly well done. I was hesitant to book this hotel because of the reviews. Would I stay here again? As long as I got a room with a reno'd bathroom. Overall, it was still a good not great stay.

Room Tip: high floor away from partying on lobby level for a good night's rest. Plus the views onto Maryla...

Our location certainly provides easy access to so much that the area has to offer and we couldn’t be happier to know you enjoyed the aesthetics of our public areas as well as our theater directly off the lobby.
