“Nice downtown hotel”
Reviewed February 17, 2010

We stayed at the Hyatt over Mardi Gras/Valentine's weekend. The room was small but had an awesome view of the arch and was clean! The hotel staff did a good job of keeping up with all the rowdy guests that were there trashing the hallways at night. If you are traveling with children I would avoid on certain weekends when events are going on. Lots of noise but once we were in our room we really didn't hear too much. Went through priceline and only paid $50 a night but self parking is $19 a night so they get you with that, but don't know too many downtown hotels that don't charge a lot for parking. Enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt and would stay there again. Staff was very nice and helpful.

I spent one night here, booked through Priceline. The exercise room is impressive, with a large assortment of machines, treadmills with built-in TV's and headphones, and refrigerated cold towels. And it's free. The room was pleasant and roomy, but without a refrigerator or (and this is huge) a coffee-maker. Also, I was annoyed with the bottled water placed next to the shampoo with a $3.50 price tag, like they're trying to sell me something in the bathroom, of all places. Another drawback is that there are no snack machines. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I stayed at this Hyatt on a business trip and was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, nice linens, etc. Very modern. My room had a view of the arch which was quite nice at night. The hotel itself has many amenities like a Ruth Chris and Starbucks.
Perfect stay.

We always stay here each January. The hotel is much better since it is now a Hyatt. Everything has been updated very nice. The Brewhouse bar/restaurant was much needed!! The bartenders were always very friendly and the food was good too! I did hear one person come in and ask for coffee though on a Friday afternoon, because the Starbucks in the hotel was closed. Found that to be strange. The room rate was under $100 which was reasonable for a downtown hotel. Close to all downtown attractions. The only complaints I had was that we faced the highway and even though we were on the 8th floor, you could really hear all of the traffic noise. Also the room temperature was not easy to control...either you were too hot, or too cold. Also the faucets in the bathroom were switched. Now the biggest problem I found is that there are not ANY drawers in the room!! Found that very strange.

We stayed at the Hyatt for 3 nights. Unfortunately, we picked a weekend with a huge Saint Louis Cardinals event scheduled for every day of our visit. The hotel didn't seem to be capable of handling an event that large: the (ridiculously expensive) parking garage was always full, we had to wait for a long time for the elevator every time we wanted to go in/out of the hotel, and the lobby was so packed that we couldn't wait to get out of it.

The whole hotel, including our room, looked like it needed a serious vacuuming. It just seemed like things hadn't been kept up - there were little signs everywhere, like the broken door handle for our room, and the bumper piece from a corner in the hallway that had fallen off the corner and was lying on the floor.

That said, our room was fine, albeit small. If we'd been there a different weekend, maybe it would have been fine. As it was, I would definitely not recommend staying there.

Rooms were small but clean and the bed was comfy. The service was not good- we asked for a list of places to eat and things to do- and they seemed mad that we did not want to eat at the places inside our hotel. We ate breakfast in the hotel lobby and the waitor was soo rude. He did not refil our cups, and took our coffee pot from our table 2 times leaving us with empty cups.
There was no place to unpack our clothes- no dressors- only a closet with a few hangers. They had a sign up that self parking was full and it was 25.00 a day for vallet- soo we had to park 2 blocks away to avoid the huge fee of vallet. The elevators were small, overcrowded, and very slow. Was very hard to navigate out of our rooms- as we had to wait soo long for an elevator.
