Worth a visit if you are already in the area. Just a few blocks from the Arch. A short film on the Dred Scott case is interesting.

Great place to see. The front doors are enormous and heavy, gives you some idea how old the building really is. Once inside there are displays in many different rooms with old architectural bits and pieces from all over Saint Louis, The center of the dome is beautifully decorated, bring you camera!

We made the short walk from the Arch to the Old Courthouse. Even our eight-year-old daughter enjoyed walking around this beautiful courthouse. History buffs will enjoy seeing where the Dred Scott case was heard. The Park Rangers are knowledgeable and willing to talk about the subjects you can tell they are so passionate about.

Not a history fan? Wander through the courthouse, anyway. It's absolutely beautiful!!

If your at the Arch, a short walk up the hill is the old courthouse. The courthouse is where the Drew Scott case was held which helped bring about the civil war. There is a informative film too watch and many exhibits to show the various changes though time about the city of st. Louis. The architecture is also amazing to look at
Again a worthwhile stop. It is also free to the public.

I really didn't know much about Dred Scott and his family, and the Rangers and exhibits made the issues come alive. Very worth while!
