“Neat to see. It's was okay.”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

The museum under the arch was neat to see once, but I wouldn't do it again. For those who love the history of Indians, treaties, and how the west was formed through conflict and coins it might be worth a trip. I was lost. The artifacts are good. It took about an hour to see everything.

“Lots of interesting history”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Had a few hours to kill in St Louis and wandered around the Arch only to find the museum housed in the building under the Arch. Generally not a big museum fan but I found this place captivating. There's plenty of history about the expansion of the Western US as well as a well laid out documentation of Lewis and Clark's expedition. And the best part is, it's free.

“Free admission to a great museum under the Gateway Arch”
Reviewed May 1, 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed this museum under the Gateway Arch. It's not huge, but they pack a lot into a small area. The circular pattern of the museum is unusual, and exhibits were well done. Definitely worth the time while visiting the Gateway Arch!

“Saint Louis,Miss. - A city for your heart”
Reviewed April 12, 2014

Do you want to return to your childhood and to be the kid who wandered with Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn along the river Mississippi ? Are you looking for excitement from about 600 foot high ? Do you want to meet Lewis, Clark and some Native Americans? Then, Saint Louis is the perfect place. Great city, with great attractions! What I liked best, when I visited this city, was the Gateway Arch, something impressive, something you can't imagine! A huge arch, over 600 foot tall. It is the tallest man-made monument in the United States and the world's tallest arch. From the top of the Arch, you have a breathtaking view of Saint Louis and Mississippi. Don't miss here, on its base, the Museum of Westward Expansion, over 200 years of American history. There are artifacts from the days of Lewis and Clark. You can see Native Americans and pioneers of the 19th century. Don't miss Saint Louis downtown. If you are looking for a good hotel, you can stay at " vintage" Hilton and for dining, go to BB's Jazz, Blues & Soups, with local style cuisine and live music.

“Western expansion museum ”
Reviewed March 18, 2014 via mobile

A great display of our history. I do wish they explained more about what was what but we really enjoyed it. We actually went twice at my kids request so let that speak for itself. The Lewis and Clark movie was great!
