Owner description: Don't take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We're four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there's the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge.

This place was awesome and nothing like one could predict or expect. We got lost of hours (2 adults) and could have stayed for much longer had we more time. Don't wear your Sunday's best and be prepared for crawling around, even as an adult!

Our kids 9, 7, and 6 had a blast. The City Museum is a wonderful place for kids and adults. Price is right for a full day of entertainment - food in the cafe was also great and reasonable.

The City Museum is fun for all. Similar to a fusion of function art, sculpture and jungle gym combined, thus place offers something for everyone. I spent three hours here, got a great work out and look forward to returning. It's wonky wonderland. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and shoes or you'll miss out on the fun.

Museum was very kid centered, and they loved it. Pretty noisy, not much for very young children. There were a couple of different displays that those interested in architecture would enjoy. Not your "normal" museum, but fun for kids.

We spent some time reading reviews and anticipated a fun day with children, ages 9-11. What we found is a fun day! I caution those who bring young/small children or those that don't want to get down and really crawl around. My children recommended no one under 5. I was able to get through all "tight" spots with the kids at 5' 10 and 165#. My shorter, but slightly heavier boyfriend, made it through all but one area called the "crack in the wall". That said, if you don't like dark, tight spaces or are very overweight, I would recommend you just observe from the main areas. Because of my Trip Advisor research, I brought knee pads from home and would completely recommend them to anyone over the age of 16!
Outside and inside activities are equally fun. The top floor wasn't open yet but this didn't dampen our fun.
We had pizza at lunch and earlier the parents had a few beverages while the kids played outside. I appreciated the opportunity of sit, relax, and have a drink while the kids played.
Our biggest complaint was that there wasn't enough signage to educate the patron on the many artifactual items in the museum. To be honest, the biggest learning experience was independence for kids and the ability of parents to let their kids just explore and to let them lead us on new activities we couldn't/ wouldn't normally do. Helicopter parents be aware, this is not the place for you! Let your kids be kids and gain some confidence and independence! Not really a museum, but a huge indoor/outdoor playground. 5 stars comes from this group of five.
