Owner description: Don't take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We're four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there's the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge.

“A place to explore and burn energy!”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

Lots of things to to for children. The very young (among our group was a 3 y/o) might find most of the things to do too difficult but 5 and up will have a ball. Various dining places with are quite good.

“Former Shoe warehouse gone Wild!!”
Reviewed December 24, 2013

This place is so much fun, plus there's a lot to learn while you're at it. Former International Shoe warehouse transformed into a playground for kids and their parents. Want to watch glass blowing or shoe laces being made? Interested in building details like antique door knobs? This is the place for you. Nothing like this anywhere else - try it!!

“Wonderful”
Reviewed December 21, 2013

This is one of the coolest attractions in the whole country. Just a crazy mash-up of random materials fashioned into twisted mazes and tunnels and slides. There's really nothing else like it and you just have to go to appreciate it. Take you kids or become a kid again.

The man who created this place recently died and I only regret never getting to meet him.

“If you have kids or you are a kid at heart, you gotta go!!!”

Most amazing jungle gym, 10 story fun house, crazy Willa-Wonka fun house in the World! The sounds of children's and adult laughter abound and it will truly astound you. Try to visit in the spring/summer when the outdoor part is open, but still well worth the visit in the winter. Friday and Saturday they are open till midnight and after 5pm it's 2 dollars less for admission. Don't let the name fool you. This is not your typical museum, but a fun filled mad house !:)

“SO MUCH FUN!”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

We spent over 6 hours at this museum. My husband and older kids loved it! There is not much for kids 3 and under to really do but we made do. We will return to City Museum and highly recommend it as a must see for all families visiting St. Louis!
