Owner description: Don't take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We're four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there's the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge.

OMG! This is the BEST place for the whole family!!! We were there on a Sunday & 6 hours is not enough time! We also ate lunch there - prices were reasonable & food was good. Please wear long pants & tennis shoes. I saw way too many girls wearing short shorts & they were hurting going down the slides. And wear older clothes. My pants were almost tearing a hole. Expect to get bumps & bruises and have the best day ever!!!!

I've never seen anything like this place. My kids were in heaven! There is a huge six-story climbing structure, another rooftop play structure, a mini-train, a circus act, an art room, the Snowflake Lady, a skateless skate park, and tons of places to climb and crawl and slide through. Description does it no justice; you won't believe how crazy cool this place is until you see it.

Make sure you dress your kids in tennis shoes and pants or shorts. (The dresses and sandals my kids were in were a major Mommy fail.)
And be prepared to do lots of climbing!

Also, it's open until midnight in Fridays and Saturdays, so it would be a great family weekend night activity. Oh, and they serve adult beverages on the patio.

Seriously, if you have kids, check this place out. It's unbelievable!

The kids absolutely loved this place. Lots to explore and the kids loved all the different elements they had. The kids will use some energy. The Ferris wheel on top of a 11 story building was awesome.

My wife and I played around at the City Museum while we were visiting family in St. Louis. I had been years before at night time when I was in college. When we went back, it was the middle of the day in August which meant anything outside (the ball pit, the climbing bars outside, etc) was done in very short segments. The crowds were extensive and we constantly waited for any of the slides. When we climbed through the caves, we constantly ran into folks. We actually most enjoyed the historic doorknobs and other St. Louis artifacts in the upper stories.

We visited the city museum with our two sons, ages 3 and 6. It is a very hands on place. It has lots to see , and lots to crawl in and slide down. Theres things to tour and see and mostly though there are things for kids to tunnel through and slide down crawl around in and explore. If you are like us we like to be with our kids at all times in a busy place, so you really need to expect to be getting a work out. Appropriate clothing and foot wear and cool clothing. It gets quite warm in the tunnels and slide and caves area. Also a small cross body purse and camera are what i took with me and that was almost too much. It is very interesting for children of all ages and adults. I wouldnt want to go on a 100 degree day. We went in the muggy 80s degrees and it was just bearable. It was a very unique experience.
