Owner description: Don't take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We're four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there's the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge.

“A must see for almost everyone.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2012

This is a exciting place for the whole family. Older kids and teens will have a wonderful time crawling around on the biggest playground they have ever been too. There are slides all over the building and ropes to swing around on. They also have some amazing architectural pieces from old building on display.

They often host events for adults (+18 or +21) that are always a good time and different from your usual night out.

“We had a great time”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2012

We visited the city muesum for the first time and had alot of fun. It is made for 7 to a 13 year old. It has lots of tunnels to crawl around in and they are made for smaller people. However the other exhibits are very interesting for adults. Had a great time!!!

“So much fun for all ages that you'll never forget it, but expensive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2012

This is a rare and unique "museum." I'm not even sure it could be called that. Maybe more of a playground/funhouse that is fabulous to look at, too. Kids absolutely love crawling through crevices, caves, enormous "tree house" and tubes and slides and most adults will fit, too. Check out the upstairs where the artifacts from St. Louis buildings reside, very cool if you're into architectural pieces. If you've got a lot of kids, this is a pricey place: $12 ticket, plus another $6 for the aquarium. Still, it's one of my favorite place in downtown and I always tell visitors to check it out.

“OK place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2012

This was a nice exhibit. However, not very handicap friendly. There should be more staff at all exits. Found this place online. Thought it would be cool to see the bus onthe top of the building. However, found out it was an extra charge which was not on the website. Found out once I got there.

“A bit pricey and not for claustrophobic individuals...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2012

The city museum is an eclectic museum full of fun for all ages. You've never been anywhere like it. However, some of the "enchanted caves" require that you walk (or crawl) through are extremely tight spaces that are difficult for larger individuals. If you do decide to brave the caves, be sure your purse, bag, or pocket is closed tightly... It is easy for things to fall out and you will have a very hard time finding them again!
