We went to the zoo earlier this week and had a wonderful time. We decided to purchase the $10 Safari Pass for everyone in our party. It was worth it. Shortly after entering the zoo we bought a souvenir cup, and refills are only $1.00.

We were extremely excited to see a baby elephant. She's adorable! The new Sea Lion area is a must see. My 2 year old loved the underwater tunnel. Some areas of the zoo are old but well maintained. There were a handful of animals we didn't see because they weren't out, which was disappointing. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely be back.

Best Zoo in the nation bar none, and free! They have the second largest elephant herd in America, fun events at night like music. It's safe for the whole family and a great learning experience. People from all walks of life come.

Disliked: The line to get into the parking lot was LONG!!!!!!

Hint: Get their "souvenir cups", especially if you will be all day, or will be back in the future. Although the initial cost is quite high, refills are only $1.00. We were told that this is not only valid for the same day, but for anytime in the future. So, save your cup & bring it back next year for a cheap way to stay hydrated!! We plan on returning next year, so we'll see if this is actually true......

The zoo is always a family must. We usually just go the free route, but this time we paid for the safari pass (10 each). It was worth it (and we're cheap). I had not taken my children to the kids zoo before (we didn't want to pay the extra cost) or on the train. But there are a lot of activities inside the kids zoo and the train gives an overview of where you might want to go back to (also unlimited travel). We spent over 5 hours there and still didn't see everything.

I've been to eight zoo's nationwide and this one is the best. First, it's free to enter. It is clean, well laid out and just a good time.
