I live within 45 miles of the zoo and visit it 2 to 3 times a year. I love looking for the person by the exhibit that will explain the animals behaviors and personalities. They are very informative.
I also love the way the zoo is laid out with easy access to the exhibits. You can take the train that will take you to the different sections of the zoo, we usually walk. The parking is a bit of a problem because the lots fill up quickly and street parking is hard to find. Get there early of later afternoon for better parking. The food is pricey and not so good. The exhibits are priced fair but short shows, about 20 minutes is all and the show performance is just ok. We really like the stingray and shark exhibit that they have right now. You pay $4 and get to stay as long as you like touching the stingrays and sharks. The admission is free so you don't feel like you have to stay and see it all in one day. I give this a good review and will be back my usual 2 to 3 times a year.
