This is a wonderful place to take children! We originally went to visit the arch but then found out the zoo is free and just had to go! The kids loved every minute of it!!

I have been to many Zoos around the world and this Zoo is one of the best! The animals look happy and healthy and they have fun interactive habitats. If you like to take picture it is a wonderful place to take them with out bars being in the way. Plus entry is free. I think many people take this for granted after paying almost 80$ to enter San Diego zoo (also a great Zoo). Free Parking on a busy day can be a pain if you don't want to walk. I would just pay the 10$ and park in the lot it will save you time and effort. The zoo is a don't miss for St.Louis and if you wanted to the art museum and the science museum is in the same park and a both free!

The zoo is free, but parking is not. $10 to park in the lot next to the entrance, but we just parked on the street for free. Granted, this was December, and I can see how that would be nearly impossible during the summer, so you'll probably just have to deal with the parking fee. Still, way cheaper than admission to a normal zoo for 3-4 people.

Zoo itself was fantastic. Best penguin exhibit I've ever seen. You can find yourself literally inches from the penguins, and could reach in and touch them if you wanted to get thrown out of the zoo. The ape habitat was also very nice, and one of the things that was open in the cold.

Children's zoo was the best I've ever seen. We stayed in their indoor part for an hour just looking at the up close experience you get with the tree kangaroos, guinea pigs, and fennec foxes.

Highly recommend it for a fun, cheap day out.

Lots of ground to cover and lots of animals to see. I can't pinpoint my favorite exhibit. Check them all out. They are all set up very nicely. Arrive early for a free parking spot on the side of the road. If you get there early enough, you can pet the sting rays for free as well.

It's free entry, just pay for parking (10 bucks) . We went in the new year with snow on the ground. This place would be really busy on a warm day. A very nice zoo, both kids loved it.
