this is and has always been a wonderful zoo (and free) since i was a small child and would come here with my family. They are always adding new things. The hippopotumus exhibit is pretty amazing and have not gone this summer to see the new sea lion exhibit . I have heard this zoo is even better than the zoo in san diego. highly reccomended!!!

We love the St. Louis Zoo. It is free to enter and is a great joy to the kids. The knew Sea lion Cove was very cool. You get to enter a glass tunnel and watch the sea lions under water. There are people there with hands on activities (ie: pelts, hooves, skins, skulls). This zoo is animal ed 101

The St. Louis Zoo is probably the best I have ever been to with San Diego Zoo coming in at a close second. My husband and I really enjoyed walking around and checking out everything. They had all the large animals that you would expect to see at a zoo. The best part is it is a free attraction! There are some parts you have to pay for (children's petting zoo, etc.).

We found the zoo still disturbing from the standpoint of its habitats. The primate building may have been enough room for the smaller species but they seemed kind of crammed in. The rhino had a huge habitat but he paced in a small corner. I know that these animals typically have a better quality of life than in the wild but still difficult for this bleeding heart.

The St.Louis Zoo is one of the few FREE zoos ( no admission fee) in the USA. It's large, well organized, and has a favorite animal "performance" to delight all age groups (example: the Penquin House)! Although there is no admission fee, there are a few things that do charge - but are well worth the few dollars. The new Sea Lion Show charges but was definitely worth the money! There is a fee for the delightful Pet a Stingray (a must experience), Merry-Go-Round, Train, Petting Zoo, etc. Individually these fees add up, so purchase a $10/person ticket which provides unlimited access to all. Great savings! BUT remember, you do not have to purchase any of these activities and you can still enjoy the vast zoo for FREE! There are several concession stands and food courts to purchase food - but you can always bring your own too. Our children's favorite exhibits are the Penquins, Prairie Dogs, Reptile House, Insect House, Butterfly House, and the Polar Bear! If you arrive early enough, parking is free on the street. Otherwise, there is an adjacent zoo parking lot for a fee. In summary: ONE TERRIFIC ZOO !!! LOVED IT !!!
