“Fantastic, Free, Zoo”
Reviewed January 31, 2012

My familly and I visit the St. Louis Zoo almost everytime we go to St. Louis. It never fails to live up to expectation. The natural environments where the animals are kept (such as the RIver Walk, Outdoor Gorilla Habitat ) make it such a nice stroll. And there are a large variety of animals.

I am also always amazed that the zoo is continually upgrading its facilities. Currently a major improvement is under way for the sea lions, polar bears, and other animals. And we always find the zoo remarkably clean. Plus ... IT'S FREE!

“Really a top notch zoo”
Reviewed January 31, 2012

This is a top notch zoo. It is unbelievable that it is free! The facilities are constantly being updated, and the variety of animals is really spectacular. If you get a chance, the Wild Lights are neat to see as well, I think these open around Thanksgiving and last through the New Year.

“Wow, all of this in the middle of the city!”
Reviewed January 30, 2012

First of all, it is FREE!!! Seriously, I still can't get over that it is free. The zoo is beautiful and they have so many different animals and did not spare any attention to detail. The food was good and reasonable. Build A Bear shop right in the middle of the park. And they were open Thanksgiving Day! They have an awesome petting zoo and gorilla enclosure. My kids loved the carousel and penguin encounter most. I can't wait to visit again on our next trip to St. Louis.

“Getting better all the time”
Reviewed January 28, 2012

Still free (parking costs), this Zoo is constantly improving and a joy to visit. Very walkable. There are multiple animal compounds now - penguins, gorillas, big cats, sea lions & seals, birds - it goes on & on. Children's petting zoo. Check out their website to plan your visit. Indoor areas for education are great too.
