Loved the arch! So glad we did this! It is only $13 each to do the tour. The guides are friendly and know their stuff too. The only advice I give is beware of the small elevators, they hold 5 people and are like a egg inside. If you are claustrophobic in anyway, you may have trouble with this! Even if you are it’s only for 4 mins up, and 3 minutes going back down.

This is a wonderful activity while in St Louis, even if you have a fear of heights. The tours start early in the day and the last one is at around 8:50 pm. I recommend both!

Nice attraction to visit when you are in town. Is located in a nice park downtown. From several hotels on walking distance.

We were disappointed to a degree. It is a nice set up either to get to the top of the Arch or the beautifully landscaped area that leads up to the Arch. But the trip up takes 4 minutes and trip down takes 3 minutes. You can go up on one side and down on the other, that is what we did. The pods you travel in are not made for either tall or large persons. The seats are close together and angled, all 5 of them. The view from the Arch is limited and by the time we got there (2:15 pm) all of the windows were adorned with smudged places.

We thought we would spend a couple of hours at the arch and that was it - in the end we spent an entire afternoon, and the museum wasn’t even open. Parking was not an issue and we found a parking garage on 4th st that ended up costing about 6$. We walked two blocks to the Old Courthouse, took pix and then learned about the Dred Scott case. BUY YOUR TICKETS TO THE ARCH ON LINE - we did and still had to wait over 30 minutes in various lines to get to the top. The line at the booth was ridiculously long. We also bought a great package - the arch tram and the riverboat tour for 30.00$. Saved money but also avoided all ticket lines - do this! Anyway, the first line is the security line, the second is to get to the tram. They show you a 60s era movie-type thing, but nothing about the arch orbits construction - meh. Then you get in the tram, which was very cool - only 5 seats and it looks like an escape pod from Star Wars. 4 mins later you are at the top and it is a right fit - there were a lot of people and you just have to be patient to see the spectacular views available - simply amazing from the top of the arch. Then you line up, again, to go down. Really not bad and everyone was very helpful and smiling. So glad to do this, even with the lines. Anyway, check out my reviews for the rest of the afternoon - the park, riverboat tour, and food.
