I would suggest going in the morning to get some great pictures. If you tilt your camera a little downward when looking out the window, you will get a good picture.

I must admit at first I wasn't expecting much when I booked the tickets online to go up in the arch, but having done it I have to say I really enjoyed it and felt it was well worth it.
We went on a Monday afternoon and there was no queue at all so went straight to the top. There was only about 10 people up there so we could see out all the windows perfectly and enjoy the view from many different angles. My girlfriend and I had the lift to ourselves up and down so was very smooth and plenty of room, would have been a little tight with 5 in it though.

Great views, a good gift shop so support St. Louis and do this, you won't regret it

When you're in St. Louis, you have to go to the Arch. The area around it was under construction when we went, which was annoying. But we were able to go to the top (the ride is awesome, and definitely unique). The view isn't great (river and then St. Louis, and the main thing to see in the St. Louis skyline you are in) but it's definitely worth the trip just to see the tiny pods you ride in up and down.

I don't know how you could go to St. Louis and not visit the arch. It's pretty hard to miss. The grounds are currently under construction, however you can still walk around and go up to the top of the arch. The ride up is not for anyone who is claustrophobic, but it's a neat 1x experience.

The Arch is a site to see- when you arrive you immediately think wow! When you get to stand right underneath and look up its just an amazing site to see. You purchase your ticket in the old court house and follow a trail on the path to the arch. Your ticket has a time for your journey up in the cable car! Yes i was thinking how the hell you can get a lift to go up inside as the legs go into the arch shape , but it does and you have to ride it to believe it. Total genius! When you arrive at the top you climb no more than 20 steps to the viewing platform. You can then look out through windows to St Louis one side and Missouri over the Mississippi river. The staff all very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. Strongly recommend that you watch the movie about construction in the theatre. Great experience
